No , I have upgraded my 2 STB & both of their LNB were not of Tata Play/Sky.

1 was of sun direct & 2nd one was a local brand LNB available in market.

Tata play did not charge any fees for record programs in the hdplus pvr box. So hd plus upgraded customers have advantage of series record or live tv record up to500gb
