Breaking Tata Sky will provide new Tariff Plans - Discussions (TRAI Tariff Order w.e.f 1st Feb 2019)

Overall I think that with still not so good packs after 29th, tata sky users still will feel happy because finally HD access fee will be gone after years of struggle and hopefully North Indians will be able to watch cricket match in HD for rs 350 or so!!

No. bcoz as per TRAI mandate for all broadcasters and DPOs deals are fixed as 80%-20% revenue share in new regime. So, Pack rates are uniform for all platforms.

Need not be. Only the MRP and ratio are set by Trai. Broadcasters can give the channel to a distributor at lower prices. In addition, distributor can offer the channel at an even lower price if they give up part of their 20% or NCF from that channel.

TATA sky files petition against TRAI's for increase the NCF Rs.130 and 20% revenue share in Courts. Can we expect the discount from TATA SKY?

Broadcasters cannot offer different rates to different platforms in new regime. Please check RIO rates in STAR TV webiste.

The rate referred is MRP; maximum retail price. MRP should be same, just like any other commodity.

Service providers can offer boutiques on the basis of a la carte rates of channels. If they give heavy discount on their boutiques, then TRAI will go to the court! Now, TRAI already appealed against broadcasters on 15% discount cap on broadcasters boutiques in Supreme court.
