Nothing confusing.
You have to pay 130+tax for your selected no. of channels upto 100.The Channels costs are extra.
You have to pay 20+tax for further selection upto 25 channels.

One question is constantly hovering on my mind, TRAI Order states that Rs. 20 NCF will be applicable for each set of 25 SDpay channels taken above this basic pack. This can easily be done if a subscriber adds channels on a-la-carte basis but almost all base packs designed by broadcasters or those which will be introduced by operators are not or will not be providing channels in this slab structure then how will NCF be calculated on that? Will some average be taken or is there some other method devised for it? Also can a subscriber take less than 25 channels if one intends to?

Yes, he'she can take less than 25 channels but have to pay Rs. 20.

NCF will be calculated on a-la-carte basis or customised packs made by the operators.

NCF, as the name suggests, is the fee for usage of network, which is capped at ₹130 for first 100 channels and ₹20 for each further slab of 25 channels. It's upto us whether we take 100 all FTA, all Pay or a combination of both, in recurring slabs also this is applicable. Its not the broadcasters' lookout to provide channels within or out of the defined slabs, after deciding what we'll be taking via A-la-Carte, Bouquets, FTA, or the combination of all, the total channel count that we take corresponds to the NCF that would be applicable, E.g. if we choose total channels to be 100 or under, ₹130 max applies as NCF, and if more than 100 channels, further slabs apply.

if they already charged for FTA channels from broadcasters than why we will paid NCF and Rs. 153 for only upto 100 FTA channels is going to be very costly and should give us headache. totally confusion. let wait for 29th dec. Pay channels broadcasters already increase their channels price so guys if you remember when TS remove all sony channels and we ask for refund than they ready to give me Rs. 7.50 for the month for sony missing channels but now they are asking Rs. 19 each for sony sab max etc

Don't panic on NCF. I think all DPOs except TATA SKY, NCF rate will @Rs.99 or Rs.100/- for any number channels.

I also think that this 19 rs is very very expansive and later they have to change it after seeing the response. Also if really we can choose additional 25 feeds for just 20 or so including a few pay ones, then it will be great move though I doubt it.

On the other hand, I see not so good future for jobs and packages in media and television sector after this and in fact some of them may lose jobs in coming times.

So it is same if u want to give farmer good price for sugar, then we say look at inflation and if they give us sugar at good price then farmers do suicide!! so that is how life goes!!
