So what is good news in this you have to pay ₹130 anyway, if you don't select FTA channels in first 100 channels then you will not only end up paying ₹130 +tax+ (MRP of pay channels) but will also get less channels.

So,its better to have first 100 channels as fta.

Rs.130 NCF is fixed even you select FTA or Pay Channels.

No, one watches all those 100FTA Channels so, why waste of your slots where you can fillup those 74 Slots of your favourite pay channels with Alacarte or bouquets method.

Even if you select 100FTA Channels and again want to subscribe more channels then you I'll end up paying more NCF.

Yes, initial capacity fee has been kept little high so that operators can get decent revenue , earlier operators were able to charge higher carriage fee from FTA Channels but under new rules that has been heavily restricted. TRAI has just given some extra room to operators so that they can easily recover cost incurred on bandwidth utilization or other additional expenses

Also guys let's not be so tough on operators, they have to invest a lot to bring us services. Yes, affordable prices was much needed and so was freedom to chose as per our liking but that does not mean that other factors are overlooked.



Here r the expenses incurred by operators for ur information

- Hiring transponders, each of them costs many crores
- Paying broadcasters, taxes to government which not only include GST but annual fee of 10% calculated on gross revenue.
- Salaries to workforce which comprises many departments
- Spending money on constant technology upgrade, electricity consumption at office or headend etc.


I am sure you won't want a situation where service standard takes a hit due to thin margins

Just going through sun bouquets seems sun is looting more than star in HD bouquets, being regional channels they priced at very very very very high
