Updating sw for dishtv nxt

Just need to know that do i need to manually go in settings and check for sw update for my dishtv nxt hd box or the sw gets updated automatically whenever new one comes.

I checked my dishtv nxt box and found sw ver 4.72. However just to manually check for update i went to settings to check for update.

It said OTA software not found: 24

What is this? Do anyone also getting this msg or something wrong at my end.

Nothing will happen after this update. I am very much irritated with bold disgusting Dish TV logo. They are not making it opaque.
