Breaking Viacom18 wins BCCI Media Rights

As Per my view

Better to shutdown regional channels and unnecessary channels. If they need better use channels available in regional languages.

SPORTS 18 need to be careful.Provide live content in a better way and also provide old archived data.So that people loved watching channel.Need to launch atleast 2 more channels is enough. No need of regional channels just shifting of audio feed is enough
Why bro? Regional channels needed... don't know about other languages... star sports tamil is a successive channel and even it enters in top 5 tamil channels during ipl....
And it is nice to watch contents in tamil and the names and everything in tamil gives good feel and better...

Why you guys are fighting over nothing?
If Disney wants to exit India, you can't stop them. If JIO wants to be no. 1 in OTT, let wait and watch.
We will watch India matches If we wish to whether it free/paid or by any illegal streaming or by buying DDFD.

Arguing with adani, ambani fanboys is meaningless. You will find many posts in social media where these fanboys bashing Tata, the same tata who is the biggest employer of India, who established themselves before independence & never got in any political controversy.
We remembered TATAs always, who saves cores of rupees of telecom users money from Airtel cartel before Jio era.

Any Foreign funds can invest in any Stock market, but relation with promoters of particular company/RIL?
1.5% is not small, you can't just go & buy such amount of share using zerodha or any online broker. These are done by block deals which is similar to the holding of invesco in zeel. These kind of share holders have powers to influence e voting results

Correct, Invesco saves Zee promoters to pay intimidate debt and later voted for Sony merger.

Says the ITT, "The feed may be produced by or on behalf of BCCI for each cricket match forming part of each Other Series. For some such cricket forming part of 'Other Series', the feed produced by or on behalf of the BCCI, will be of a standard that is fit for exploitation through Television Delivery (Domestic Televised Matches).

The minimum number of match-playing days for Domestic Televised matches will be 70 and the maximum number of match playing days will be 140 in each contract year. Subject to this minimum and maximum the number of match playing days for Domestic Televised Matches as well as the particular matches to be included therein shall be at the sole and absolute discretion of BCCI." A similar point has been made about the digital games also with the range of the games to be shown is between 70 and 160.

So BCCI same Neo to Star and even after Viacom18 acquiring rights too, still no freedom to Broadcasters. In this BCCI T&C/law literally they can't air most of important domestic tournaments matches.
