CTVN AKD Rastrio and Sanskriti 24X7 get MIB nod to launch a satellite TV channel

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) earlier this month gave its nod to Calcutta Television Network Private Limited and PTLD Broadcasting to launch CTVN AKD Rastrio and Sanskriti 24X7 respectively. The former will be a News channel while the latter will be a Non-News channel.

Calcutta Television Network Private Limited which operates Bengali News channel CTVN AKD Plus has been given the nod to operate another News channel ‘CTVN AKD Rastrio‘ which will operate from GSAT 30 with permission to broadcast in Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu language. The license was recently granted on 23 November 2020.

The broadcaster has already sounded the bugle for the launch of the channel the very same day it got the nod from the Ministry with on-air promos teasing the launch of ‘CTVN AKD Rastrio’ which is tipped to be coming soon. CTVN has also kickstarted hiring news anchors and experienced desk persons for its upcoming Hindi News channel.

PTLD Broadcasting has been given the nod to operate Sanskriti 24X7, a Non-News channel which has been given the license to operate in Hindi, English, and all Indian scheduled languages. The channel got the MIB nod on 10th November and will be operating from GSAT 30.

The ‘About Us’ section of the Facebook page of the channel reads, “Swasth Vichar Ashram’s founder, Gayatri Siddha Pandit Laxman Dass Ratan Bharadwaj ji has been treating people with incurable diseases through Ayurvedic medicines from last 67 years.Swasth Vichar Ashram’s founder, Gayatri Siddha Pandit Laxman Dass Ratan Bharadwaj ji has been treating people with incurable diseases through Ayurvedic medicines from last 67 years.” The channel further has a tagline ‘Sanatan Sanskriti ka Samvahak’.

In other news, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has given the nod to KCP Engineers for launching Update Kids, Update Music, and Update TV apart from Update News.
