The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) earlier this month gave its nod to KCP Engineers to launch a bouquet of channels with the grant of 4 satellite TV licenses namely Update Kids, Update Music, Update TV, and Update News.
DreamDTH had earlier reported the grant of ‘Update News’ license to KCP Engineers which was incorporated into the Ministry’s database on the very next day of the license being granted. The rest of the granted TV licenses have however been incorporated into the database today even though all of them were granted on 05th November 2020 itself as we head towards the closing of the month.

KCP Engineers has got the nod to launch Update Kids, Update Music, Update TV, and Update News with Update Music, Update TV, and Update News set to be a Tamil channel since the Ministry has only given the nod to operate in Tamil language. Update Kids however has the license to operate in Hindi, English, and all Indian scheduled languages.
All the four channels will be operating from Intelsat-17 with Tata Communications as the teleport operator. The company based out of Chennai is involved in construction work.
