Dhinchaak expands DTH presence as it onboards Tata Sky

Tata Sky customers can view the new Hindi Movie channel on channel number 348.

Goldmines Telefilm recently launched Hindi Movie channel ‘Dhinchaak’ has expanded its presence across Direct to Home (DTH) platforms with its addition on Tata Sky earlier this morning. The channel is available on DD Free Dish, Dish TV and Tata Sky.

‘Dhinchaak’ is a Free to Air (FTA) Hindi Movie channel from Goldmine Telefilms. Tata Sky customers can view the new Hindi Movie channel on channel number 348. The channel is also part of the Tata Sky FTA Complimentary pack.

Tata Sky earlier yesterday moved Zee Anmol Cinema from LCN 347 to LCN 348 to make way for Dhinchaak. Tata Sky has additionally added Manjari TV and Power TV Kannada on its platform as well.

Goldmine Telefilms earlier acquired ‘Blue’ license which has held by Naaptol. The channel won a slot on DD Free Dish in the annual MPEG-2 auction. Dhinchaak started its transmission only at the end of May with Blue rebranding as Dhinchaak. The channel is also available on Dish TV through DD Free Dish. The addition on Tata Sky will give it further reach to the DTH operators 18 million subscriber base.

Goldmine has ramped up the promotions of its channel on its YouTube channel which boasts a subscriber base of 37.2 million. The channel is showcasing Hindi movies, South Indian films dubbed in Hindi along with Bhojpuri movies as well. Dhinchaak recently aired the World Television Premier of Policewaala Gunda 4 on 14th June.

It remains to be seen if it onboards the rest pay DTH platforms or not. Dhinchaak faces intense competition in the FTA market with Rishtey Cineplex and Zee Anmol Cinema rentering DD Free Dish recently.
