MIB renames Aaho Music satellite TV channel license as ‘Dhinchaak 2’

Aaho Music bagged a MPEG-2 slot in Bucket A on the DD Free Dish platform that attracted an average slot price of Rs 15.675 crore.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) earlier this month has renamed MGK Printing and Broadcasting Private Limited’s satellite TV channel license named ‘Aaho Music’ as ‘Dhinchaak 2’ allowing Goldmines Telefilms to expand its TV channel portfolio with the launch of yet another Hindi Movies channels.

The renaming of the satellite TV channel license is believed to have been approved in the last fortnight after Aaho Music landed a MPEG-2 slot in the recently concluded 3rd Annual (52nd) E-Auction of MPEG-2 slots of DD Free Dish DTH platform. Aaho Music bagged a MPEG-2 slot in Bucket A on the DD Free Dish platform that attracted an average slot price of Rs 15.675 crore.

MGK Printing and Broadcasting Private Limited was initially granted the TV license on 19th June 201 in the name of ‘All Time’ post which it has been renamed as ‘Naaptol HD’, ‘Vaa Movies Hindi’, ‘Aaho Music’ and now subsequently ‘Dhinchaak 2’.

In other news, MIB recently handed ARG Outlier Media its third satellite TV channel license on 5th March 2021 allowing Arnab Goswami to launch ‘R.Bangla’ in the run-up to the upcoming West Bengal elections. MIB also cancelled two more satellite TV channel licenses namely â€˜P7 Gujarati’ and ‘Sneha TV’.
