Defunct Odia news channel News World Odisha is all set to relaunch itself as Nandighosa TV. The channel with a brand new avatar is expected to launch before Diwali.
The channel had earlier planned to relaunch itself as Odisha News as reported by DreamDTH last month. The broadcaster has already been given permission for launching Odisha News. As reported by DreamDTH, the ministry has renamed the Zonet license to Odisha News.
According to a Facebook post, News World Odisha has now rebranded as Nandighosa TV. From the pictures shared, it would seem that the new office of Nandighosa TV was inaugurated this week.
The channel has been soft-launched on October 21 at 3 PM. It is slated to launch this Diwali. Whether it has granted the license in its name remains unknown as the trademark was registered only 20 days back.
The channel’s social media handles have been renamed as Nandighosa TV and have become active again. The social media handles were dead earlier after the shutdown of New World Odisha. News World Odisha had been featuring in the Top 5 Oriya News in BARC Ratings.
News World Odisha had on 22nd August shut down its operations. Tata Sky had removed the channel from its platform the next with Airtel showing a banner saying that the channel’ service was interrupted from the broadcaster’s end.
