Sony Pictures Sports Network to telecast AIBA World Boxing Championships 2021

The live telecast of matches will begin on October 26th on Sony Six, Sony Six HD and SonyLIV.

Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) and Protocol Sports Marketing have reached an agreement to live broadcast the AIBA World Boxing Championships in India and the Indian Subcontinent. Viewers would be able to watch it starting from October 26, 2021, to November 6, 2021, on SONY SIX and SONY SIX HD (English) channels along with Sony’s OTT platform SonyLIV.

The 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships are being held in Belgrade, this tournament will see India with their largest contingent at the tournament till date, with 13 boxers competing in all 13 weight classes. It will feature current Olympic medalists and AIBA world champions like Arlen Lopez, Julio La Cruz as well as Lazaro Alvarez.

The 13 members Indian contingent includes top boxers like Asian medal-winners Deepak Kumar (51kg), Shiva Thapa (63.5kg) and Sanjeet (92kg) while the remaining 10 in the squad are newly crowned national champions. The team will be accompanied by the experienced coaching staff, featuring High Performance Director Santiago Nieva and newly appointed head coach Narender Rana with former Commonwealth Games silver-medalist L Devendro Singh.
