Tata Sky has postponed the discontinuation of its Tata Sky on-Demand (VOD) service from its platform. The VOD service currently available to HD+/PVR customers was initially scheduled to be dropped on 14th October.

However, the DTH operator will now be discontinuing the VOD service from its HD+/PVR boxes from 31 October according to the latest SMS sent out by Tata Sky to its customers. The SMS was sent yesterday, 4 days ahead of the earlier scheduled drop date. Tata Sky has urged its customers to download the Tata Sky Mobile App to enjoy the latest and on-demand content.

DreamDTH had earlier reported that Tata Sky had launched a new Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) feature in place of VOD. With this service, the customers will be able to watch the movies while on the go that is through the Mobile App/Binge or watch.tatasky.com.

In this new feature, a subscriber gets the option of renting a movie. The subscriber gets an option of “Premium Movies on Rent” and the trail of all the available movies will appear. The purchase of premium movies can be made from the Android mobile app, SMS and watch.tatasky.com.
