Zee Biskope to launch on December 21

Zee Entertainment’s upcoming Bhojpuri Movie channel Zee Biskope is all set to hit the TV screens from 21 December 2019, first spotted by DreamDTH.

The broadcaster has made the launch date official and released it across its official social media handles for the channel which was created in early November.

The channel’s tagline is “Aanthon Pahariya Loota Lahariya”. The channel’s social media handles say that Bhojpuri’s most fearless channel is coming soon.

Zee Biskope will available for DD Free Dish viewers from the launch date itself having landed an MPEG-2 slot on a pro-rata basis last month after paying Rs 2.74 crores (approx) for the slot. The channel is already available on DD Free Dish but yet to start transmission and showing a black screen.

For pay-TV viewers, Zee Biskope will be available at a nominal rate of Rs 0.1 on a-la-carte subscription. The channel will be available in only four bouquets namely Zee Family Pack Hindi SD, Zee All-In-One Pack Hindi SD, Zee Family Pack Hindi HD, and Zee All-In-One Pack Hindi HD. 

It was initially named Zee Bhojpuri Cinema after which the broadcaster changed the name of the channel to Ganga Biskope. The new RIO carrying Ganga Biskope was notified on 14 October. Three weeks later ZEEL renamed it from Ganga Biskope to Zee Biskope. The test run had started a few days before the renaming of the channel.

The channel’s launch is likely to be followed by the entry of Surya Bhojpuri which will mark the entry of a third Bhojpuri channel in recent months. It will herald a new chapter in the Bhojpuri TV market and further make the competition intense.
