The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) starting this month has added a new column to its performance report which will now publicly reveal the statistics of grant of new TV channel permissions on a monthly basis.
According to the Ministry’s monthly performance statistics, the number of TV channel permissions granted in August 2020 stood at 9 with 8 of them being Non-News channels while the last one was a News channel.
C-10 News is the lone channel which in August was granted a News channel. Azaad, Zee Rang, Zee Picchar HD, Zee Thirai HD, Zee Zabardast, and Sidharth Music are the 6 Non-News channels that have been granted licenses in the month of August 2020 as per the database of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The identity of the other two Non-News licenses that were granted in the month of August remain unknown for the time being. The Ministry also gave the green flag to lot of renaming of existing licenses including Dangal Kannada and Enterr10 Rangeela in August apart from many others.
