The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has given its nod to three satellite TV channels to kickstart its live operations in August with Enterr10 Rangeela, Sidharth Music, and C-10 News getting the nod. Sidharth Music and C-10 News have been granted fresh satellite TV licenses while Enterr10 Rangeela has been given the green signal to rename one of the existing licenses.
MIB has granted a fresh license to Visual Technologies India Private Limited and Sarthak Music Private Limited to operate C-10 News and Sidharth Music respectively. Sidharth Music was granted a fresh license on 5th August 2020 and is likely to operate on GSAT-30. The non-news channel from Sarthak Music stable is likely to be an Odia Music channel with Sarthak Music tipped to launch four new channels namely Sidharth TV, Sidharth Music, Sidharth Gold, and Sidharth Bhakti for which it holds satellite TV licenses.
Enterr10 Group on the other hand has been given the green signal to rename Live India Today Entertainment’s Wave Wings license to Enterr10 Rangeela. The trademark for Enterr10 Rangeela was registered less than a month ago and has been given a quick nod. Enterr10 Group recently also got the nod to rename its Enterr10 license into Enterr10 Movies while Shandaar Cinema license has been renamed into Enterr10.
The second new fresh license granted a week ago belongs to Visual Technologies which will operate C-10 News channel from GSAT-17. It is likely to be a Hindi News channel.
In other news, the Ministry recently cancelled the license of News18 J&K, News18 Goa, Issaq, Play My Movie, and Play My Song. On the other hand, the Ministry has also approved the license name change of Jothi TV and Janta TV Uttar Pradesh Uttrakhand. Zee Vajwa and TV9 Bangla were also granted a nod for license name change last month.
