Airtel Digital TV Q4 revenue at Rs 6,035 million with 304K net additions

Bharti Airtel on Monday reported the consolidated financial results for the quarter ending March 31, 2020. Bharti Telemedia run Airtel Digital TV reported total revenue of Rs 6,035 million in Q4 FY 20 with Earning Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) at Rs 1,465 million.

Airtel has reviewed the accounting treatment for acquisition revenue with onboarding, installation, and rental revenue deferred over the life of the customer due to which the Q4 FY 20 results can’t be compared to Q3 FY 20 results.

The total revenue in Q4 FY 20 stood at Rs 6,035 million, a 17% Y-o-Y revenue growth on a comparable basis whereas the total revenue for FY 20 stood at Rs 29,238 million, a 16% Y-o-Y revenue growth on a comparable basis.

The total revenue on an adjusted basis in Q4 FY 20 stood at Rs 8,022 million vis-a-vis Rs 6,035 million reported revenue. EBIDTA on an adjusted basis stood at Rs 5,436 million vis-a-vis Rs 3,648 million reported EBIDTA.

The ARPU stood at Rs 123 (Rs 250 on a comparable basis) as compared to Rs 233 in the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 7.7% YoY. The ARPU before Q1’20 is not comparable due to accounting changes in Q4 FY 20. The normalized ARPU for change in accounting policy is Rs 163.

Airtel Digital TV covers 639 districts with 99.8% coverage. Airtel DTH had 16.6 million subscribers at the end of March 31, 2020, an increase of 7.9% as compared to March 31, 2019, i.e customer additions of 1.2 million during the year. The monthly churn dropped down to 1% from 1.8% in the previous quarter.
