Happy to accept that I was wrong. No platform till now added 30 days lock-in period. No collective decision was taken. I am glad I am wrong. I watched Sholay on Holi and successful dropped Star Gold HD next day on my Tata Play connection. Life feels Jingalala again.

Wait till April 1 or April Mid

Financially good move to convert DTH users to Airtel Fiber users by giving discounts on bundle via Airtel Black. Also it gets rid of Low ARPU users. That's Airtel way of doing business. This is how they survived aggressive competition in telecom sector. It will be a good move for customers in longer run as well as long as they plan to upgrade their customer service and ground service. We need a premium player for people willing to pay for good service. They need to add "niche channels" like Vh1 HD if they want to cater to premium audience. Or add some free International service channels catering to that audience like Smithsonian HD, Curiosity Stream, E! News, FightBox HD etc. to stop from cord cutting. They need to differentiate their offering than other operators.

I think instead of good and bad, the question of what would you do if Airtel continues with their 30 days lock-in policy would be more appropriate. Options can be:
1. Didn't affect me much. Fine with 30 days lock-in.
2. Will continue with Airtel but will deactivate a la carte channels in my existing subscription, will not activate any a la carte channels and for those channels will reply on OTT.
3. Switch to other DTH
4. Cut cords and completely move to OTT

Soo when you not able to loot customer in Mobile sector you can apply policy so you can loot in dth sector

Switch to other DTH
Bro it's best option but problem is to convince parents for them affection towrds company comes 1st all thing 2nd also parents mostly either watch entertainment channels and news channels which ( almost all fta) plus they less care about what effects happen due to this move to the younger people of family coz we need multiple genre channel to watch
