And what if OTT also starts some unknown stuff you know that we can’t imagine now ?

Like that no technology is safe and is evolving
I normally have active D+H, Sonyliv, Amazon prime, voot, zee5, almost all popular OTT subscription bro, for their vast entertainment offerings. I still prefer watching sports in DTH for better experience. I don't have to subscribe anything extra for sports. Now I am planning to manage with OTT for Airtel's upfront amount deduction for 30d. DTH is still cheaper if we don't have OTT subscription and need to get only for sports.

Do u think sun direct will do it after al they are charging less NCF
Till now adtv also thinking on behalf of customers also but no they think about profit so I feel sun also follow adtv path instead of think abut customers ultimately all are private player's everyone think 1st profit

OTT is worst incase of lock in... Most Indian ott have only yearly plans.... Even if they have monthly plans the pricing is worst...

I don't think this is a big issue one month contract is not a big deal.... Even people shift to OTT they are paying for one year upfront... Which is worst.. When compared dth....
And The pricing still cheaper in dth when compared other major markets....
Us, uk have 12,18,24 month contracts....
That too with high pricing....

I don't know abt other operators but Tataplay used to charge 60p.m ie.., 2per day before NTO....
So, In that case Atleast the pricing should be 90(3rs per day) or 120 (4rs per day) now... But the scenario is reverse is reverse 22 rupees...
Cost will rise over time we need to accept that...
People are ok with the increase of fuels 70-80rs to 110-120rs now within 4years.. And all other prices are increased...
Entertainment is also equally important actually it is also an essential item 10-20 percent with a month contract is not a big increase in the current... Ofcourse people can't afford the increase but price increases are inevitable... Actually it is a long due

Please don't bring other countries comparison..they enjoy other services also ..in those countries, taxpayers are valued here in india even after we pay taxes in salary , they collect tax from everything else ..so our tax money going to drain

Coming to dth comparison, now airtel is waste after this policy..earlier I used to add English movies channels during weekends only to watch , now can't do that as they will charge for full month...now tataplay seems better! Their service is outstanding

Actually it is not about airtel or tataplay bro... Capping the pricing is the worst idea....
Leave the pricing issue to broadcasters and operators... If they want to stay in the business they will make their own pricing strategies....
I still don't understand why Trai designed this regulation if they want tax they can charge like in all other products....

The quality has degraded very much over the years since NTO. You still don't get English movies after 90 days of it's theatre release. Most niche channels have shut down. TV has no exclusivity. Shows comes on OTT before TV. 4K channels have been shelved. Most big countries watched FIFA World Cup and Olympics on 4K. We are world's fifth largest economy. We have some third world developing country level TV industry. We didn't even got in Full HD. I have seen Africans have better TV industry than ours.

It is not about comparison bro.... Cheap pricing won't work for long....
Look at mobile charges now....
From 35rupees minimum recharge in 2019 to 155 rupees in 2023....
I am not saying we need to 50, 100 dollars.... But at least we Nedd pay some good amount like 50-60 rupees for a sports channel
The sports rights are expensive how can they recover without proper pricing.... Even brands have some limit to spend on advertising... They will not pour 40k cr for advertising for just ipl 5ipl seasons... People need to pay some amount...

Every country has its own problems... Even us, uk people hate price increases recently sky UK increased prices by 7-8% still with 18 months contracts and all..People hate it but no option prices will increase over time
