DDF Exclusive Airtel Xstream Box Hands On! Review

Not very convenient but I have a way to enjoy apps without recharging DTH, Go to settings ---> apps ---> Airtel Xstream ---> Force Stop
Now, press back button and move back to apps list -----> Look for play store and open from the settings, to your surprise play store will open.
Now, search and install ATV Launcher (Or any launcher of your choice) -----> Open ATV Launcher from app store
Voila you can see all apps there and they would open normally.
Actually the check is done by their Launcher so if we could root and delete that launcher and install android tv home ( Google launcher for android Tv), then theoretically that would bypass the subscription check also.
Unfortunately, you have to force stop Airtel Xstream every time till then. Also I would recommend not to upgrade your box as they may fix this vulnerability and use some other method to check for subscription. Till then enjoy!

@k2max6 As you mentioned earlier in this thread, Xstream box is forcefully sending only HDR signals even for the DTH content.

I am using LG TV Webos. Here the issue is my TV detect the signals and automatically changed to HDR picture mode. In HDR Picture mode, only some preset picture modes are available. Particularly ISF Dark room mode is missing.

But I need that ISF mode. As you too having LG TV, do you have any idea about how to over come this issue?

My Airtel Xstream box remote is not working properly. It stopped working within few days after installation. Then, I replaced the batteries, it stated working. Again after few days it stopped working. This time I just removed and reinserted the same batteries, it worked again.

If it is not working then even the LED on the top of the remote does not blink at all, if I press any button.

Now, I have to reinsert the batteries often to make it working again. Anybody facing this issue?

How can i activate prime and how much it cost? Please give me a step by step procedure.

You need to create Amazon ID if already not having and purchase Amazon prime subscription from www.amazon.in which costs Rs. 999/- for one year. Once it is done, install the Amazon Prime app on Airtel Xtreme box using google play store and login to it using your ID. Thats it. You can enjoy Amazon prime on your Xtreme box. Please note that it is not mandatory to hve Airtel mobile number in any of the process. Even I am not on Airtel mobile but using my non Airtel mobile no. configured for Xtreme box.

You need to download Airtel Smart Remote app on your mobile from play store and connect it to xtreme box using bluetooth.

Hi..you can select debit card payment option and give your SBI or Federal bank card details during checkout which is usual process for any online purchase. Alternatively you can use netbanking payment if you have enabled netbanking for either of these accounts.
