SCV is the only MSO that is in Chennai for a long time and can also withstand any type of pressures so can be considered as most reliable as they never failed their service even during rainy seasons. As per the data shared here on DDF -

• SD STB: INR Rs 300 (Mostly SCV will offer SD STB for free).
• SD pack with all channels: Rs 230 (LCO will sell it at Rs 250 - 300).

• HD STB: INR Rs 750.
• HDpack with all channels: Rs 300 (LCO will sell it at Rs 350).

TCCL though the new MSO, it came with the most affordable SD packs within Rs 160 & HD packs within 250.
VK simply follows TCCL in pricing but no idea if they are still offering DAS as most LCO's seem moving to Arasu cable.

No requirements. I think Chennai already has Arasu Cable wires in all Areas so LCO can just connect their main line to Arasu within no time.

Also i think most LCO's who are currently not promoting STB's in Chennai will move to Arasu once they start delivering free STB. SCV & TCCL too might try to reduce their SD packs to match Arasu and would offer free SD STB.

Hd pack in scv is even more costlier than 350

No idea if the price we pay for cable is fixed by MSO or LCO. In VK digital & TCCL LCO gives HD pack at Rs 250-300 but for Sun network we have to pay additional so this price might go higher.

I think many lco will be forced to move to Arasu because of free stb and cheap package. But only once when it is implemented it will become a reality

As per the above news, TCCL operators wont connect to Arasu cable.

So Chennai would have minimum 3 MSO's Arasu, SCV & TCCL. Since VK Digital has removed its HD STB Info channel its unsure if they are continuing with DAS conversion or out of the race.

But if few of the LCO's stick to VK then Chennai shall have 4 MSO's,

1. Arasu.
2. SCV.
3. TCCL.
4. VK Digital.

Hope we have some update within next 2 months.
