3. Sun and Star priced their channels too high. Let them do so. It is like an IPL auction., If some waste player keeps his base price as 2 crore, then nobody will buy him. Next time, he will reduce to 20 lakh.
With the world cup, IPL and India cricket rights in hand, do you think Star will reduce its cricket-showing sports channel's price? Absolutely not

do you think Star will reduce its cricket-showing sports channel's price
Then let them charge Star Sports 1 at 100 or 150. But then as per TRAI order, they cannot keep that channel in any bouquet.
If Star thinks that their channel is worth it, let them take that risk. Why should any authority stop it? In USA, HBO is like that. Its price is much higher than any other channel. Only people who want to watch programs like Game of Thrones will subscribe to it. Others will torrent their way around.
Actually these broadcasters like Star/Sun/etc know that they do not have the appealing content to make users pay more. As per old rules, they still charged high. Now, their game is over. You'll see that one by one all channels will reduce their prices to single digits soon, if 15% rule is implemented.

If most important events comes on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports 2. Who would pay for their regional channels? They will have to produce production of every event from now on. Even getting proper advertisers for the regional channels will be a nightmare for them.

Regional Sports channels are just a way to increase subscriptions. Only very few people will be willing to watch Karnataka league cricket or Tamil Nadu Football league. Also, most of the regional language commentary is very bad. So, they will reduce the MRPs drastically

Yet they are not clearing the biggest confusion and matter of contention NCF and it's content.
As understood by many but not correlated by service provider We can not create our own 75 channels pack within ₹130 NCF
Removing channels from mandatory 100 Ch list makes room for NCF free addition but increases bill as per MRP of addition.

We can create our own 75 channels pack in order to avoid additional NCF slab, pay channel pricing is payable anyways.

I think the latest FAQ by TRAI is very clear
Read Point 10
example:
Option-2: The customer chooses pay channels in lieu of FTA channels In the above example customer want to choose five pay channels in lieu of 5 FTA channels  Customer deselect the five FTA channels from the BST pack  Select five pay channels from either from a bouquet or a-la-carte of his choice The customer charges per month would be as follows:- Basic pack of 100 SD channels (FTA) Rs. 130/- Deselected five channels and selected 5 alternative SD pay channel Rs. 10/-. (Sum of a-la-carte prices of the selected five SD pay channel is Rs. 10/- or the price of the bouquet of the referred 5 SD pay channel is Rs.10/-)
Total Rs. 140/- GST @ 18% Total Rs. 165.20

So unless service provider waives off NCF and gives discount on MRP we are doomed !!

There is no confusion here. Only 26 DD's channels are mandatory. We are free to choose rest of the 74 channels we want. Doesn't matter whether we are getting free, ala-carte or bouquet. If you want more channels you will be charged 20 bucks for additional 25 channels. I am attaching the link to the interview of TRAI's chairman.

Provided you are willing to pay the MRP of the pay channels in addition to the NCF!
