To be fair they had advertised.. Atleast I had seen multiple ads on Star Movies and other English portfolios. They even tried them binged block, I don't remember the block's name exactly, it will are the show on Saturday and Sunday's primetime continuously.. They even had aired Mrs. America just after it's run on Hotstar..Perks of airing shows with almost no promotion. How about use Nat Geo channels to promote English GECs? It works other way too. Meanwhile we have different sets of audience of Star World and Star World Premiere HD. I recall watching shows of ABC like The Goldbergs and This is Us air on Star World Premiere HD which earlier were on Star World and should've been there. While HBO and FX's shows belongs to the niche channel who was successful as a Premium GEC with shows airing as same day as US.
Anyhow, I do fee that's its not promotion fault, but the most viewers who care about those shows might have already had watched them on Hotstar and might not have given importance to watch on the linear channels with ads and censorship...
However, they do own Universal TV and ABC Studios's shows for linear broadcasting which aren't streamed anywhere in India along with US like the Blacklist, Black-ish, the walking dead and other shows.they should have utilisied those properly with a prime time block on weekdays...
