What is the scan result of GSAT-10? Is it showing any KU-Band TPS? If not than don't expect new chs in near future.

forget gsat 10, nothing is going to happen. there is something wrong and noone is disclosing it. take digital cable or any dth ops connection and enjoy max chs at low cost.
do not recharge tata sky account

Currently, India's total transponder capacity is 187 (augmented by the last Isro launch, the Gsat-10 with 12 transponders in extended C-band). However, the projected demand for transponders is already 500, and this projection will grow over the years

now tata sky will wait till end of 2014 for gsat 11 and as gsat 11 will have 32 ku band tps, tata sky will apply for 24 ku band tps. after this they will vacate insat 4a gradually in 12 to 16 months time just like airtel left insat 4cr and shift all its operations to gsat 11 at 74 degree east

but yes, only if gsat 11 does not meet the fate of gsat 10 (which we are assuming to b bad)

this is my assumption as no other option for tata sky now other than this

Tata sky was premium DTH but now they lost their position due to poor planning, two premium channels HBO hits and defined not available on tata sky. Now soon tata sky are joining to RDTV.

i think we should better stop discussing about tata sky, their planning team just not seems to be thinking like we think, that is to plan properly for the future. since 2007, they are sitting idle waiting for gsat 10 and they did not reconsider plan b in a situation where if gsat 10 fails what should they do . so now ultimately they have no answer when the customer asks them to add their favorite channels, they will give a standard replay which is all a farce that ''we are working on adding new channels on the platform. we will keep you posted.''
if they have guts they should admit that we won't be able to meet customer's demand for new channels
