I got one question. In sundirect, all hd audio is Dolby Digital plus. Whether all hd channels are dolby digital plus from Broadcaster end???? Dobly Digital requires much license. Most of hd channels are PCM/Stereo actually. Sundirect is converting everything into Dolby Digital plus and telecasting. So i wont agree your point.
That is wrong, not all channels are Dolby Digital Plus on Sun Direct. In fact, none of them are. Only Dolby Digital Audio is available, that too for those channels where it's available from broadcaster. For example, Zee Telugu HD does not have Dolby Audio, it's just stereo. Same for ETV HD. I'm not sure where you checked.

In Sun direct, all hd channels are decoded in DD+ (when i checked two momnths back). This is default setting from Sun direct. You have option to select PCM/Dolby in audio option. You could see as DD+ in channel information display

Well, I'm not sure about two months ago. Right now, I have selected Dolby in the audio option. And In the channel info display it shows AC3. The Dolby audio is perfect on available channels. On non-available channels it's Stereo. So, they are not doing anything in the middle.

Except fyi TV18 HD and travel xp HD all HD channels in SD is Dolby digital plus, you can see AC3+ symbol.

Some channels are converted to DD+ 2.0 ch to avoid issues with some home theatres

Sun direct is cheating customers with poor DD+ Audio.. They giving compressed audio only 192kbps bit rate (previous 384kbps) means half of the volume decresed

It shows the symbol, but my HT properly decodes it as 2 channel audio.

Your home theatre can decode. Thing here is sun direct is telecasting hd channel as DD+ even though broadcaster is pcm/stereo. I have watched same sun network channels in sun direct and other dth operator, quality of sound is not good in sun direct. But for HD video quality, sun direct is good due to HEVC.

DD+ Audio doesn't mean it's only 7.1ch, it can also be 5.1ch or even 2ch.
Looks like you guys are right. I just did a deeper level of checking. The sound from surround speakers is too low. So something is not right. Some mixing seem to be happening at Sun Direct end. I'll do some more testing tomorrow.
