So after seeing Package Rights and Base price it's confirm Reliance/Viacom Out of Race now. Good for Sony, Disney, Amazon and Netflix

A joint deal between Sony and Amazon can work out against Star.
There is no need for any deal.. They can separately bid for their respective categories... Unlike, the last time there is no consolidated bid this time.. So, Star has to fight on all three fronts separately, ie., package A, B and D to retain the rights..
Star will be either get all or get none…
If they feel its too expensive, they can simply acquire Package C and go hard to get ICC rights and some other boards.

Package A: Sony
Package B: Amazon Prime Video
Package C: SonyLIV
Package D: Eurosport/BT Sport

Sony definitely looking to get back the Television rights where they know to monetize it properly and see profit that's why they will go for Package A. Package C will serve as a compliment to existing SonyLIV subscribers (17.6M)

Amazon Prime Video will go hard on digital rights. They've seen how it pushed Disney+ Subscription to gargantuan numbers. Combine IPL with their e-commerce, Music, Amazon Photos (rumoured to launch in India) will be a steal for Tier 1 & Tier 2 users.

Eurosport is a niche sports service in the Europe and they have recently merged with BT Sport in some territories. Eurosport will be part of Warner Bros. Discovery in a few weeks. They can use Eurosport App to stream IPL in Europe while in the U.S. they can use HBO Max to test live streaming. WarnerMedia already streams Champions League on HBO Max in Brazil but they haven't yet tested in the U.S. even though they have NHL digital rights.
