SS India has 1 licence dormant in India of Fox Sports News/ESPNEWS :k so they can use this licence for SS 5 :TUP

No i believe there should be sports news channel..... It would be great..

Just saw the list. There is ESPNEWS license which might be renamed to SS 5 in sd. Maybe both launch before the football season kicks off in early August or before India cricket season starts in October.

BTW for others if i am not wrong at first there where plans from star to launch 2 SD & 1 HD channel named "ESPN NEWS(not ESPNEWS)", "STAR Cricket" & STAR Cricket HD. so there is 100% chance of channels getting renamed and launched at any time by star network in names "STAR Sports 5(Tamil Feed for cricket)", "STAR Sports HD5(Tamil & Telugu HD Version Audio & Score Cards in Tamil)" & "STAR Sports 6(Telugu Feed for Cricket)" reasoning to fact during "Belive" relaunch of star sports network some one from star network said their plans is to have 18 different language based regional sports channels by 2022 under "STAR Sports - Belive" brand.

Get your facts rights. The old channel name was ESPNEWS which shut down once the JV between star and ESPN ended. Now no more sports news channel will launch in India.

Haha... It would be funny to have regional sports channels at this point ... First they should cover the the content of rights they already have. After that only regional sports channel would look appropriate..

Bro are you sure cc and cc hd are not showing the same thing...
I dont think they will apply for cc hd license because they are shutting down sd channel...why would they waste their money...
