Haha... It would be funny to have regional sports channels at this point ... First they should cover the the content of rights they already have. After that only regional sports channel would look appropriate..

they already have ss3 which is a regional sports channel...

@ ayanc : ESPNEWS was later renamed as "fox sports news". at the time of "star sports belive" revamp of network star was already applied to MIB for license of same kind of sports news channel under "ESPN NEWS" and also got it but it was never related to international sports news channel named "ESPNEWS" as this was scheduled to be launched as completely different channel from same. ESPN NEWS By "STAR Sports Network" was never seen daylight as network was headed for split and later also there was no plan on card for sports news channels in india. star sports network was at time of revamp in greed to launch regional sports network and they are still on there way for same.

I dont think they will apply for cc hd license because they are shutting down sd channel...why would they waste their money...
