It seems like Fahadh Faasil is keen on being part of multi-starrers when it comes to testing waters in the Tamil film industry. After signing Mohan Raja's upcoming film that has Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara, the actor is in advanced discussions for his second Tamil movie that will be directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja of Aaranya Kaandam fame.
The movie will also mark the second directorial of the National Award-winning filmmaker, who had served as a script consultant for Gautham Menon's Yennai Arindhaal.
Kumararaja tells us, "Fahadh is very much interested in being part of the film. I don't want to give anything away about his character till we are ready to officially announce the movie, which will happen soon. Apart from Fahadh, Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha are also on board."
The filmmaker's Aaranya Kaandam, which released in 2011, was a gangster movie that has a cult following among the Tamil audience. Ask him if his upcoming project would also tread the same theme and the director says, "No. It's a quintessential masala movie and it will go on floors very soon."
Earlier, it was rumoured that Nivin Pauly too would be part of the project. However, it seems that with his packed schedule in Mollywood the actor has not signed the film, for which PC Sreeram will be handling the cinematography.
Meanwhile, Fahadh is currently busy shooting for Rafi's comic caper, Role Model, which has Namitha Pramod as the female lead. The campus movie revolves around friendships and the role it plays in shaping the protagonist's life.

Leona plays an orphan who defies odds in Hadiya...

With her flawless skin and bright smile, Leona Lishoy could very well get the pretty girl roles, one might think. But guess what, Leona wishes to do only those characters where she can actually do some acting. And that is the reason why she picked up her latest film Hadiya, she says. "My character is named Khadeeja and she is an orphan. She grew up in a Yatheemkhana (Muslim orphanage) and is the most studious girl there. She secures a little job too. But she is not a bold character and is diffident when it comes to facing the world because of the thought that she has no one." Hadiya has two other main characters and all three stories develop in parallel. "The film showcases the changes that happen in their lives as time passes. Khadeeja's and their lives get connected. She is also forced to deal with a lot of struggles in her life. Being an orphan, people try to take advantage of her. Her experiences make her bold and she starts to lose her fears in dealing with people."
This would be the first time Leona is playing a Muslim character, and also starring in an emotional drama. "I wear a thattam in the film, and everything about it was new to me. But I just loved the character. This is the kind of film I like to do. Just to stand there and smile make no sense to me, and I feel fake even while doing it," says Leona. The actress is awaiting the release of her next, Kalam. She plays a bootlegger in the film which was
earlier titled Mughapa dangal.

Swarnakaduva Movie Review...
0d295a8f1565a00d5e989a930acf34fb.jpg

Review:
From the onset of the movie, director Jos Thomas makes it clear that the story is about a self-centred opportunist, Rini Iype Mattumel (Biju Menon), whose ultimate aim is to amass wealth – by any means necessary. Some of the protagonist’s aims are to marry after receiving the heftiest dowry and throw the biggest wedding party the Irinjalakuda town has ever witnessed.

The movie starts with Rini trying to cover up a hit-and-run case for his boss Lonappan (Innocent), who is a jewellery chain owner and a film producer. While Rini somehow manages to tie one loose end with his schemes, another unravels and ultimately it all leads to a murder. This sets off a chain of events that Rini uses to push for his ultimate goal.

The movie’s script by Babu Janardhanan and Biju Menon’s one man show are the pillars of 'Swarnakaduva'. The former has fleshed out the plot, which has elements from the socio-political scenario such as the closing of bars, jewellery smuggling and the prioritising of wealth over relationships.

As far Biju Menon is concerned, he totally owns his role as the anti-hero who has no remorse even when he verbally abuses his mother and sisters for their property, manipulates a woman to marry her or sleeps with the wife of the man, whose death he is trying to cover up. Like a chameleon, he slips into the myriad faces of Rini, the man with no moral compass. Actors such as Innocent, Ineya and Kanaran Harish do justice to their roles.

While the first half is on the sluggish side, the scriptwriter and the director does not waste time in redeeming the anti-hero in the latter half. This keeps the audience guessing as Rini keeps outsmarting his sins.

Gopi Sunder’s background score takes diminishes the effect of Biju Menon’s scenes at times while Ratheesh Vega’s songs compliment the movie’s sequences, without unnecessarily prolonging the already drawn out affair. The protagonist’s performance saves this movie from being an average fare.

Oru Bhayankara Kamukan, the upcoming Dulquer Salmaan starring Lal Jose movie, is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects of Mollywood. The movie is scripted by the popular writer-scenarist, Unni R.
Interestingly, writer Unni recently revealed an interesting fact about Oru Bhayankara Kamukan. The writer clarified that the Dulquer Salmaan movie is not an adaptation of his short story of the same name.

It is a totally fresh subject, which has absolutely no connection with the story. The team decided to use the title of the story for the project, as they found it very interesting and appropriate for the subject.

However, it is a highly disappointing news for the readers, who were waiting to watch the cinematic version of the popular short story. The team is expected to reveal other major details of the project soon.

It is the second outing of Dulquer Salmaan with Lal Jose, after the 2014-released superhit movie Vikramadithyan. Dulquer and Unni, on the other hand, are teaming up again, after the success of Charlie.

Oru Bhayankara Kamukan is produced by Shebin Bekkar, the co-producer of Charlie. The project is expected to go on floor by the beginning of 2017. Stay locked to Filmibeat for more updates.
