It's the season of bilinguals with several Telugu and Tamil productions also getting Malayalam versions and vice versa. After Mohanlal's Janatha Garage, Oppam and Pulimurugan, Mammootty's Peranbu seems to be the latest production getting a Mollywood twist.
It was Mammootty, who had reportedly convinced the director to release the movie in Malayalam as it suits the sensibilities of the Malayalam audience as well.
The movie has Anjali and Suraj Venjaramoodu as part of the cast. Mammootty's next release, meanwhile, will be The Great Father.

Prayaga, Radhika join Dileep in a political thriller...

Radhika Sarathkumar is all set to make her comeback to Mollywood, after a gap of 23 years, with Dileep's upcoming political thriller, directed by debutant Arun Gopy. The actress, who was last seen in Malayalam in the 1993 movie Arthana, will play a pivotal character in the yet-to-be-titled project.
The director confirms that the Tamil actress has indeed signed the film. "She is on board and will play a strong character, that of Dileep's mother. I don't want to reveal more than that as she plays one of the two central female characters in the movie," says Arun adding that Prayaga Martin has been roped in for the other role.

"Prayaga plays a character called Helena, who, however is not the love interest of the hero. The movie doesn't have a romantic angle per se. It's more of an entertainer that has a lot of thrilling moments," says the filmmaker.
The movie, which is scripted by Sachy, has Dileep as an MLA named Ramanunni. "He is the kind of public servant that we rarely see in the field of politics these days. That's the novelty of this character compared to his previous outings as a politician in films such as Lion and Nadodi Mannan," says the director.
The film, which will go on floors on December 9, will also have a foreign schedule. "We have scouted locations in Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Thailand as part of the story happens overseas. But we are yet to finalise the locale," says Arun. "We will be shooting in Palakkad, Kochi, Trivandrum and also a place near the Goa-Maharashtra border for the movie, which will be a Vishu release next year," he signs off.
