Anurag Kashyap is considered to be one of the finest film-makers of Bollywood, who is ready to experiment with his movies. The director has earned critical acclaim for his works that are a cut above the mainstream Hindi films.
The film-maker recently listed out his favourite Indian movies that he watched in 2016. Now, Malayalam film industry and its followers can be proud of the fact that Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kammatipaadam, has found a place in the list.

Interestingly, Anurag Kashyap has placed Kammatipaadam at the third spot. The director selected Punjabi film Chauthi Koott as his favourite movie of the year.

Kammatipaadam, which was realistic tale of a transformation of a village in to a city is definitely one of the best Malayalam movies of 2016. The film directed by Rajeev Ravi also offered the Malayalam film industry its first realistic gangster tale.

Rajeev Ravi, is a long-time friend of Anurag Kashyap and the cinematographer has been the first choice of the film-maker for many of his directorial and production ventures.

Anurag Kashyap had showered praises on the film, at the time of its release itself. The film featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, earned critical acclaim and emerged as a box office hit, as well.

According to the actor, Pranav disbelieves in the concept of spirituality and hardly goes to the temples.The father and son are totally opposite when it comes to spirituality. Mohanlal describes himself as an extremely spiritual person, while Pranav is absolutely not interested in prayer or temple visits.If someone asks Pranav to pray, he will question them about the benefits of praying. Mohanlal has never forced his son to pray or visit temples, as he totally respects his beliefs and personal choices.

The actor points out Pranav's upbringing as the driving force behind his beliefs. Mohanlal grew up in a spiritual atmosphere, where the temple visits and bhajans were a part of the daily routine.But Pranav, on the other hand, spent his childhood in an international residential school, which consisted the students from 23 different countries. The school life laid the foundation of his beliefs.The star kid is now all set to make his debut in the lead roles, with the upcoming Jeethu Joseph-directed untitled movie. Pranav is currently learning parkour, for his character in the movie.

Gautami All Set For A Mollywood Comeback...

It seems like popular actress Gautami is all set to be active in films, once again. The veteran actress did make a comeback to films after a break, with Papanasam that featured Kamal Haasan in the lead role.Now, according to the latest reports, the actress is all set to make a powerful comeback to Malayalam films. Reportedly, the actress has been roped in to play an important role in the upcoming Malayalam film Viswasapoorvam Mansoor, directed by veteran film-maker P T Kunjimuhammed.

The upcoming film would feature Aanandam fame Roshan Mathew in the lead role. According to a latest report by Time Of india, Gautami would be seen playing a character named Fathima Beebi, who is the mother of the protagonist. Prayaga Martin would be paired opposite Roshan mathew in the film.
Gautami was previously seen in the 2016 Telugu film Manamantha, which had Mohanlal in the lead role. The actress was much praised for her performance in the movie.The actress has worked with Mollywood superstars like Mammootty and Mohanlal in the past and did make her mark in the industry by featuring in good number of films. Stop the film strike: Kerala CM...

The Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has asked the film exhibitors to put an end to the weeks-long film strike that has brought the Malayalam film industry to a halt. Film exhibitor's Federation President Liberty Basheer had even alleged that the strike was brought about by Suresh Kumar, in order to bring maximum number of theatres for his daughter Keerthy's Tamil film Bhairavaa. However, the CM has now taken a stern stand, though neither of the warring parties- producers and exhibitors-are ready to budge.

Mohanlal, the complete actor is extremely busy with a handful of promising projects in his kitty. But, in a recent interview given to a National daily, Mohanlal revealed his future plans and other interests.The actor stated that he is planning to reduce the number of films eventually, and wants to travel around the world. Mohanlal also revealed that he loves to take a small vacation after every film.But, he is unable to do so due to his extremely busy schedule. But, Mohanlal is planning to find time for travelling and reading books, by reducing the number of projects eventually.
Mohanlal states that he loves to stay away from the industry after completing each project and wants to explore the other side of life too. The actor wants to make time for himself, hereafter.

The actor wants to try something different in each of his films, and avoid being repetitive. Mohanlal feels that it is the trust audiences show upon him, which motivates him to try something new all the time.Pulimurugan and Oppam, the last two Malayalam releases of Mohanlal, emerged as huge box office successes. The Great Father & Poomaram Postponed To March...

The Great Father and Poomaram, the highly anticipated Malayalam movies will not hit the theatres as expected. As per the latest reports, both the movies have been rescheduled to hit the theatres in March.
Mammootty starring The Great Father, which is directed by newcomer Haneef Adeni, was originally supposed to hit the theatres on January 27. The new release date of the movie is yet to be finalised.

Poomaram, the Kalidas Jayaram movie directed by Abrid Shine, was slated to release on February 4. Now, the team has cancelled the plan and the movie has been postponed to March 2017.

The Christmas special Malayalam movies are rescheduled to release in January and February. That is the reason behind the decision to postpone the releases of The Great Father and Poomaram.

All the Christmas movies, including Dulquer Salmaan's Jomonte Suviseshangal, Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Prithviraj's Ezra, and Jayasurya's Fukri have been cancelled due to the theatre strike.

If things fall in place, all the four Christmas films will hit the theatres by the last week of January and the first week of February. The theatre strike is expected to end by the second week of January.

The shooting of the movie 'Take Off' ended. 'Take Off' is written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan and features Kunchacko Boban, Fahad Fazil, and Parvathy in the key roles.

'Take Off' is produced by Anto Joseph and Shebin Becker under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company in association with Rajesh Pillai Films
