Dulquer Salmaan Wraps Up Amal Neerad Project...

Dulquer Salmaan, the charming actor finally wrapped up his much-anticipated upcoming Amal Neerad project. Shibin Francis, the scriptwriter recently announced that the team has wrapped up the movie, through his Facebook page.
The movie, which marks the second collaboration of Dulquer Salmaan and Amal Neerad, is said to be a breezy love story. The duo first teamed up for Kullante Bharya, the segment directed by Amal Neerad in the anthology movie 5 Sundarikal.

As per the reports, the team is yet to finalise the title of the project. The movie will feature newcomer Karthika Muralidharan, the daughter of cinematographer CK Muralidharan, as the female lead opposite Dulquer Salmaan.

The movie revolves around Aji John, a Pala-based young man, who travels to America in search of his lady love. Dulquer Salmaan, who is essaying the central character Aji John, is said to be using the typical Kottayam dialect in the movie.

Soubin Shahir, Jinu Joseph, Tamil actor John Vijay, etc. appear in the supporting roles in the movie. Ranadive, the former cinematography assistant of Amal Neerad makes his debut as the DOP with the project.

Gopi Sundar composes the songs and background score. The project is produced by director Amal Neerad himself, along with his best buddy Anwar Rasheed, for the banners Amal Neerad Productions and Anwar Rasheed Entertainment.

Legendary singer Yesudas turns 77...

Malayalis' bery own pride, singer KJ Yesudas celebrates his birthday on January 10, and he turned 77. Among the umpteen wishes that reached him was the one from musician Achu Rajamani, who posted on his social networking page recently. He posted, " One man who I look upto and a legend who stole our hearts with his dynamic singing . # HappyBirthdayYesudas sir . Vijay Yesudas do convey my wishes brother (sic)."
Singer Siddharth Menon took a stroll down the memory lane, and posted a picture along with Yesudas, and said, " Happy birthday yesudas sir ... this is one of those pics that wil allways be very very special to me .. may god bless u with good health,peace,and more and more happiness.

Richa Panai to play an airhostess in Lakehouse...

Actress Richa Panai is back in Mollywood with the anthology movie Crossroad, in which she would play the female protagonist in director Sasi Paravoor's segment titled Lakehouse.
Richa made her debut with Albert Anthoni's Vadamalli, which also had Rahul Madhav. The actress recently told in an interview that Albert had suggested her name to the director of Lakehouse, which incidentally also has Rahul Madhav.

Richa plays an airhostess in the short film. The actress, who is mostly now active in Telugu and Kannada film industries, had worked in the Bollywood remake of Traffic.

Sathyan Anthikkad condemns film strike...

Malayalam film director Sathyan Anthikkad has condemned the film strike which has brought the industry to a standstill for the past many weeks. The film exhibitors calling for a strike is like cutting the branch one is sitting on. Only four producers have suffered the consequences of the strike, while the entire fraternity of the exhibitors are suffering losses, he writes.
Sathyan Anthikkad's 'Jomonte Suvishengal', starring Dulquer Salmaan, is one of the films in hold owing to the strike. A lot of people have worked hard for the film, and it took months to just develop the script. It is not right to say the end product cannot be screened, a film is not a business product to be sold at a market, it is an artistic product, he writes.

Fahadh Faasil And Vineeth Kumar To Team Up Once Again...

Fahadh Faasil, who made his comeback to big hits with the 2016 release Maheshinte Prathikaaram has some promising projects in his kitty, which are sure to make the coming days a special one for the actor in him.Now, here is a latest update regarding the actor's one of the upcoming projects. According to a latest report by Times Of India, Fahadh Faasil is all set to team up with actor Vineeth Kumar, who had earlier directed him in the film Ayaal Njanalla.

Reportedly, this yet-to-be titled film would go on floors in July. Nothing much has been revealed about the rest of the cast and crew members of the movie.
Ayaal Njanalla, which released in the year 2015, did win some good reviews upon its release. The film marked Vineeth Kumar's directorial debut and Fahadh Faasil also got to play a role with a difference.Vineeth Kumar is also set to do an important role in V K Prakash's upcoming film Carfeul, which has an ensemble star cast in it.Meanwhile, Fahadh Faasil is busy with the works of his next film with Rafi, titled as Role Models. Kerala Cinema Strike Takes A Turn: New Association For The Theatres...

The infamous cinema strike of Kerala has now taken a new turn. Reportedly, the strike has now come to an abrupt end, as a large number of theatre owners have backed out from the same.
Interestingly, the theatre owners who backed out from the strike are now planning to form a new association for the theatres. The team has also decided to release the movies from January 12 onwards.

A large number of Exhibitors Federation members were totally against the strike, which was called by Liberty Basheer and his associates. Reportedly, they are planning to team up with some popular producers, for the new association.

Earlier, the Exhibitors Federation had decided to close all the A class theatres in Kerala, as the part of the strike. But the birth of the new association is expected to put an end to the much-criticized cinema strike.

The new association will also include the theatres owned by the movie industry members and theatres without a membership in Exhibitors Federation. The team has also decided to release the Vijay starring Tamil flick Bairavaa on January 12 itself.

The Christmas special Malayalam films, including Ezra, Jomonte Suvisheshangal, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, and Fukri will hit the theatres from January 19 onwards. Stay locked to Filmibeat for more updates.

Mammootty To Join Alphonse Puthren-Silambarasan Movie...

Alphonse Puthren, the hitmaker is reportedly all set to team up with Tamil actor Silambarasan, for a multi-lingual project. If the reports are to be true, Mollywood's megastar Mammootty is also joining the project.According to the reports, the movie will have Mammootty in an extended cameo role. Even though the actor will only appear in a few scenes, his role in the movie is said to be a very important one.However, the reports are yet to be officially confirmed. Earlier, it was reported that Alphonse Puthren is planning to direct Mammootty in his next project. But as per the latest updates, the project will not materialise anytime soon.

Instead, Alphonse is planning to direct the Silambarasan movie, which is a multi-lingual romantic drama. According to the sources close to the director, the movie will be simultaneously made in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.Earlier, Alphonse Puthren was said to be planning to associate with Mohanlal. The actor, who was highly impressed with Puthren's directorial venture Premam and the Oppam trailer edited by him, had openly expressed his desire to work with him.However, the reports suggest that Alphonse will team up with Mohanlal, immediately after completing the Silambarasan project. The director is also planning to remake his films, Premam and Neram in Hindi soon.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal & Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol Get Release Dates...

Jomonte Suvisheshangal and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, the much-awaited movies have finally got release dates. The Dulquer Salmaan movie will hit the theatres on January 19, and the Mohanlal starrer will be released on January 26.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol and Jomonte Suvisheshangal are initially slated to hit the theatres in December 2015, as the Christmas releases of the year. But the releases were postponed indefinitely, due to the Kerala cinema strike.
Now, the strike has almost come to an end due to split among the Exhibitors Federation members. A large number of members have decided to quit the federation and form a new association, with the help of Producers Association.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal, which stars Dulquer Salmaan in the title role, is directed by Sathyan Anthikad. The movie, which is scripted by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram, stars Tamil actress Aishwarya Rajesh and Anupama Parameshwaran in the female leads.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, the Mohanlal movie is directed by Jibu Jacob. Meena, the popular actress essays the female lead in the movie, which is scripted M Sindhuraj. The movie also stars Anoop Menon in a key role.
The other Christmas releases, the Prithviraj starring horror thriller Ezra and Siddique's Jayasurya movie Fukri, are yet to get release dates. If things fall in place, the movies will be released by January last week and February first week.

Mammootty And Reenu Mathews To Pair Up Once Again...

It has been quite some time since we saw actress Reenu Mathews on screen. She was previously seen in the film Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi, directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon, which released in the year 2015.Now, certain rumours are doing the rounds regarding her next project. Certain reports suggest that the actress is being considered for the role of the leading lady in Mammootty's upcoming project, which will be directed by Syam Dhar.

No official confirmation has been made regarding the same, but if the news turns out to be true, it will be for the third time that Mammootty and Reenu Mathews would be seen sharing the screen space.
Interestingly, Reenu Mathews made her debut in films with Mammootty starrer Immanuel directed by Lal Jose. Later, both of them appeared together in the film Praise The Lord, which turned out to be a big flop at the box office.Reportedly, Mammootty would be seen playing the role of a teacher, who trains other teachers in this yet-to-be-titled movie.
