Raai Laxmi turns RJ for the remakes of 100 Degree Celsius...

We had earlier reported that director Rakesh Gopan's female-centric film 100 Degree Celsius, which had five actresses in the lead, is soon to be remade in Telugu and Tamil with Yaaradi Nee Mohini fame filmmaker Mithran Jawahar helming the remakes.
The Malayalam movie had Shweta Menon, Meghana Raj, Ananya, Bhama and Haritha Parokod. Actress Raai Laxmi had been roped in for the remakes and now we hear that she will be playing Shweta Menon's character in the film.

The writers though have changed the profession of the character from a TV journalist to an RJ. "Shweta's character in the original is changed to an RJ for the remake but her bold personality is very much intact," says Raai Laxmi. "Also, I have played a journalist in the past, so this would a new challenge for me."
The remakes had to be tweaked for the Tamil and Telugu audiences as they might not relate to the Malayalam version as it is, says Raai Laxmi. "However, the plot of the movie would be the same."

The actress, who was last seen in Malayalam in Rajadhi Raja, says she is currently working on the looks and references given to her for the role.
"The director is also finalising the other cast members and we will be figuring out the looks and other details, once the discussions are over," she says.
Raai Laxmi is also doing a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual psychological thriller named Yaaru, which is directed by K S Bava.

Vinay Forrt goes broke in Kadam Katha...

Actor Vinay Forrt has been receiving rave reviews for his latest film God Say, in which he plays an alcoholic who embraces Gandhian philosophy. Now, he is all set to do yet another realistic and grounded character in debutant director Senthil Rajan's movie titled Kadam Katha.
"The story is about two people who face financial hassles in their lives. Vinay and Joju plays the main leads," says Senthil, adding that the movie has a lot of situational humour.

On the duo's characters, the filmmaker says, "Vinay plays a youngster named Giri. Wanting to make some quick bucks due to immense pressure from his wife's family, he tries his hand at different businesses but ends up going broke." Joju, meanwhile, essays a chronic bachelor named Cleetus. "He runs a garage and is also strapped for cash. He wants to go to the Gulf to settle his financial liabilities and eventually get married," says the director, adding that the story evolves once the two meet up.

Vinay tells us that he found the character interesting and signed up. "A lot of people can relate to the character Giri as society has heaped a lot of expectations on him and he struggles to meet. It's also a role that would explore my acting calibre."
The film also has Renji Panicker and Roshan Mathew playing pivotal roles. "Renji Panicker comes in as an advisor for these struggling duo," says Senthil, adding that the movie will be shot in Kochi.

It Is Too Early To Reveal Anything About Randamoozham: Director Shrikumar Menon...

Mohanlal, the complete actor is all set to essay the central character Bheeman, in the highly anticipated project Randamoozham. Recently, director Shrikumar Menon finally opened up about the project, which is scripted by MT Vasudevan Nair.
According to Shrikumar, it is too early to reveal anything about the big budget movie. The director revealed that Randamoozham will be a jointly produced by a well-known Indian banner, in association with an international studio.

The names of the production banners announced very soon. Shrikumar Menon also revealed that the team is yet to finalise the rest of the star cast and technical crew of the project, which is still in the pre-production stage.

Earlier, it was reported that AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the music for the movie. It was also rumoured that Amitabh Bachchan and Mammootty have been finalised for the roles of Bheeshmar and Duryodanan.

The sources had also suggested that both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Manju Warrier have been considered for the role of Draupadi in the movie. But, director Shrikumar Menon brushed off all the rumours.

Fahadh Faasil teams up with 23 real cops...

Actors doing their own stunts, gaining or losing weight and actresses going de-glam, all for originality, seems like passe in Mollywood now. In Fahadh Faasil's next film Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, the actor is sharing screen with not one or two, but 23 real policemen!
A source close to the movie, directed by Maheshinte Prathikaaram fame Dileesh Pothen, says, "No, they aren't all part of just any crowd in the movie. We conducted an audition about a month ago for real-life policemen to act in this film and hundreds of aspiring actor-cops applied. After the screen test, we picked 23 cops who would have lengthy screen time in the film." The movie's shoot is currently progressing in Sheni, Kasaragod.

About five of the policemen will have many scenes with Fahadh in the film, the source informs us. "They have been performing well and what we could understand is that all of these cops have nurtured the dream of making it to movies for a long time, and are quite talented. Fahadh too has been impressed with their performances," the source reveals.

Meanwhile, the actor has also been shooting for Rafi's Role Models with Namitha Pramod in Goa and is expected to start with his debut Tamil project soon.

Tovino Thomas plays dual roles in his next...

The first promo of filmmaker Tom Emmatty's upcoming movie Oru Mexican Aparatha caught fans' attention, thanks to its catchy theme song and Tovino Thomas' intense avatar. We now got to know that the actor will be playing two characters in the movie.
Tovino is no stranger to playing dual roles as the actor had starred as father and son in last year's Style. In the upcoming film, he would be portraying a campus leader of the past and one in the making.

"The promo song is a flashback sequence set in the 70s in which I play a campus leader named Kochaniyan," says Tovino. "While Kochaniyan has only a few portions, most of the movie is set in 2004 featuring my character Paul. The latter is someone who joins college having no political inclination at all. But due to certain incidents, he enters campus politics and then becomes active."

The actor, who will next be seen playing a cop in Ezra, says that while the film will have "an extended feel" of what the first teaser had promised, it also has all the elements of a campus movie. "It shows the ups and downs of college and hostel life, the romance and friendships. The making is experimental and we have kept it as realistic as possible, while adding a few cinematic elements where required," he says.
Tovino also explains that the story is set in a campus that has a rich political atmosphere like Ernakulam Maharajas College, Thrissur Kerala Varma College or Trivandrum University College.
"The ambience in these colleges is very different from professional institutions. Many students here love reading, they are clear about their political ideologies, and exchanging love letters is very much part of their romances even now. So, technology has not corrupted that sense of nostalgia or innocence in these colleges. This movie reflects all of that," says Tovino, who has also finished dubbing for Basil Joseph's film Godha.

Suresh Kumar debuts as actor...

Veteran producer Suresh Kumar is turning actor for the first time in his decades-long career in films, with Dileep-starrer Ramaleela. Ask him how it feels to be in front of the camera and he says, "I was full of apprehensions when its scriptwriter Sachy sounded the idea to me. I had never been interested in acting though I have been in the industry for long. I took it as a joke but he took it seriously. However, after a few scenes in the set, I fell into the groove." Suresh plays a politician in the movie, a Congress president named Sagar Nagampadam. "It's a somewhat important character in the film. I completed five days and have a few more days left. I hope I don't get hooted (laughs)," he signs off.

Mohanlal & Asha Sarath Are Back Together...

Mohanlal and Asha Sarath, the popular star pair is all set to team up, once again. Asha has been roped in to essay the female lead opposite Mohanlal, in the upcoming Major Ravi movie 1971 Beyond Borders.
1971 Beyond Borders, which is the fourth instalment of Major Mahadevan series, is said to be a prequel to the first part, Keerthichakra. Mohanlal is playing the characters of Major Mahadevan and his father Sahadevan, in the movie.

Asha Sarath is rumoured to be appearing as the wife of Sahadevan and mother of Major Mahadevan in the movie. The actress has earlier associated with Mohanlal-Major Ravi team for the 2012-released movie Karmayodha.

Mohanlal and Asha have also shared the screen in the 2013-released Jeethu Joseph movie, Drishyam. The actress was highly appreciated for her portrayal of IG Geetha Prabhakar in the movie, which emerged as a blockbuster.

1971 Beyond Borders, which is scripted by director Major Ravi himself, will mark the Mollywood debut of Telugu actor Allu Sirish, the younger brother of Allu Arjun and popular Bollywood actor Arunodhay Singh.

Newcomers Priyanka Agarwal and Zoya Zayed Khan essay the other female leads in the movie, which stars Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, etc. in the supporting roles. The movie is produced by Red Rose Creations.

Telugu Version Of Mohanlal's Oppam Has A New Release Date...

Well, 2016 was a year worth remembering for Mohanlal. Apart from the fact that he delivered back-to-back blockbusters, the year also established himself as one of the most popular Malayalam actors in the Telugu speaking regions.
Banking on that newly gained popularity, the Telugu version of Mohanlal's Oppam, directed by Priyadarshan is all set to hit the theatres. Earlier, the film was slated to release by the last week of December, but now the makers have come up with a new release date.

Reportedly, the film, which has been titled as Kanupapa will hit the theatres on February 3, 2017. The makers are also planning to release the audio track of the film on January 25, 2017. Reportedly, the dubbing rights of the film has been bought by Overseas Network Entertainment.

Earlier, Mohanlal's Pulimurugan was also dubbed in to Telugu as Manyam Puli and the film did a whopping business out there giving a stiff competition to other Telugu movies.

We hope that the dubbed version of Oppam will recreate the same magic in Telugu speaking regions, as well. Going by the present popularity of Mohanlal, it is quite obvious for the film to make it big at the box office.

Dileep With A Suspense Thriller...

Dileep, the janapriyanayakan is extremely busy with a handful of promising projects in his kitty. Now, the actor is all set to join hands with SL Puram Jayasurya, the director of Speed Track, once again.According to the latest reports, Dileep and Jayasurya are teaming up for a suspense thriller.
