'Georgettan's Pooram' shoot ended...

The shooting of the film 'Georgettan's Pooram' written and directed by K Biju is complete. Dileep and Rajisha Vijayan play the main roles.

Vinay Forrt, Sharaffudheen, Chemban Vinod Jose, Renji Panicker, Harish Kanaran, Sudheer Karamana, Janardhanan, E A Rajendran, Shaju, Ganapathy, Jayaraj Varier, Jeevan, Valsala Menon, and Kalaranjini play prominent roles

The script is penned by Y V Rajesh. Gopi Sunder composes music for the lines by Harinarayanan. The camera is handled by Vinod Illampally.

'Georgettan's Pooram' is produced by Arun Ghosh, Bejoy Chandran, and Sivani Suraj under the banner of Chand V Creations in association with Sivani Entertainment.

Dulquer to join Soubin's Parava on February 1...

We had told you that Dulquer Salmaan will be doing a cameo in Soubin Shahir's directorial debut, Parava and he will be acting as a Fort Kochi guy in the film.
Latest reports are that the actor will be joining the sets on February 1. He is now in Chennai after winding up the shoot of Amal Neerad's movie. "DQ just returned from the shoots and will be coming to Kochi to join Soubin's project on February 1. He will have nearly twenty to twenty five days of shoot for the film," says a source.
Parava is an upcoming 2016 Indian Malayalam film directed by Soubin Shahir with a script jointly written by Shahir and Muneer Ali. It is Shahir's debut film and will have Shane Nigam, Arjun Harisree ashokan and Zinil Sainudeen in the lead roles.

Mohanlal releases actor Niyas's short film at Palakkad today...

Ore Kadal fame actor Niyaz is all excited to release his short film today that too by his superstar Lalettan! "The film will be released today by Mohanlal and Major Ravi at Palakkad," he tells us animatedly. The mini movie will be spreading message against terrorism and rising intolerance in Kerala.

Mollywood theatre strike called off; films to release soon...

A month-long strike by the Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation that paused Mollywood releases since Dec 16 has now been called off by the organisation's head Liberty Basheer. New movies will reportedly hit theatres from Jan 20 onwards.
It's widely reported that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's criticism for prolonging a one-sided strike coupled with the new committee of theatre owners formed by Dileep and other members led to the film strike being called off. A meeting has been convened to discuss the formation and functioning of the new organisation of theatre owners.
The next few weeks would see the release of Dulquer Salmaan's Jomonte Suviseshangal, Prithviraj's Ezra, Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol and Jayasurya's Fukri.

Murali Gopy will script for Arun Kumar Aravind after Lucifer...

Director Arun Kumar Aravind will soon do a film which is scripted by Murali Gopy. He announced it through social media today. "Murali will be penning a film for me and it will be done after his Mohanlal movie directed by Prithviraj," he said. Arun's current project with Asif Ali is on. The duo will join together after their committed projects.
Talking about his chemistry with Murali Gopy, Arun said, "Our rapport is more than a friendship. It is brotherhood and what bring us together are films. We have similar wavelength. Birds of the same feathers flock together! Isn't it?" he asks.

Arun also added that the he is always glad that he was able to explore the calibre of Murali Gopy as an actor and scriptwriter.

TK Rajeevkumar to script Mohanlal-Priyadarshan's next...

After the success of their previous outing, Mohanlal and Priyadarshan are teaming up for a big budget film, scripted by filmmaker TK Rajeevkumar. The movie is all set to be produced by Manianpillai Raju.
There were rumours that the movie would be based on Kunjali Marikkar, the naval chief of the Zamorin during the 16th century. What fueled the rumours was the news that National Award winning art director Sabu Cyril had also joined the movie's team.
However, the movie's producer Manianpillai Raju tell us, "The talks are on and there are still a lot of details to be confirmed. Howevever, it's not based on Kunjali Marikkar, that I can assure you right now."

Alphonse Puthren to produce a movie starring the Premam team...

While rumours about Alphonse Putharen's next directorial after Premam has been doing rounds, the filmmaker took to the social networking page to announce his next production.
"My friend Mohsin Kassim is going to do a movie. When I heard the story, I liked it. So, I have decided to produce it. Krishna Shankar, Sharafudheen, Siju Wilson and Shabarish will do the main roles," posted Alphonse.

The team is apparently on the hunt for an actress aged between 17 and 25 for the movie. "The movie needs a heroine who loves Malayalam... and has to be bold also," posted the director.

Padmarajan’s son scripts Asif-Arun Kumar Aravind film...

We have already told you that Cocktail director Arun Kumar Aravind is back after two years with a revenge drama which has Asif Ali and Murali Gopy playing prominent roles.
The yet-to-be-titled movie is based on a short story of veteran director Padmarajan and it is written by none other than his son, Anathapadmanabhan!
He had earlier scripted K B Venu's August Club that starred Rima Kallingal and Murali Gopy.

Confusion over release date of Mohanlal film...

Mohanlal''s Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is finally up for release, now that the film strike is over. However, there is a mild confusion over the release dates, with some mistaking it to be on the 26th of January, Replubic Day. It was announced earlier that Sathyan Anthikkad's Jomonte Suvishengal will be released on the 19th. However, the producer of the film, Sophia Paul, has confirmed that the film will release on the 20th, a day after Jomonte Suvishengal. She also put up a post on facebook confirming the same. Director Dr Biju has also come up in support of the director. "Noone except the producers can decide the release date of a film. How can they decide on a date without consulting the producer, he asks, referring to the newly formed association headed by Dileep. Now that Liberty Basheer is out of the way, have we come up with a bigger evil? he asks.

Prithviraj’s Ezra Gets A Confirmed Release Date...

Here is a happy news for all Prithviraj fans. The makers of his upcoming film Ezra has come out with a releasing date.

Ezra, the upcoming film of Prithviraj, which impressed one and all with its posters and brilliantly cut teasers is one of the most awaited movies of this year.
The film was earlier expected to hit the theatres as a Christmas release of 2016 but the film strike that hit the industry badly, did delay the arrival of the movie.

With the film strike having come to an end, the makers have come up with a confirmed release date of the movie. According to the latest reports, the film would grace the theatres on February 10, 2017. The makers of Ezra announced the date through the film's official Facebook page.
Other films, like Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol and Dulquer Salmaan's Jomonte Suvisheshangal will be hitting the theatres in the coming week. But, the audiences will have to wait a bit more long to see this Prithviraj starrer.
Ezra, directed by debutant Jay K, is a movie in the lines of a horror thriller. The expectations are quite high on this film.
Apart from Prithviraj, the film also features actors like Tovino Thomas Priya Anand, Vijayaraghavan, Babu Antony, Sujith Sankar etc., in key roles.
