Malayalam films to be screened in theaters, which aren't under the Exhibitors' Federation...

The film strike in Kerala, which has been keeping filmmakers and exhibitors at loggerheads, has taken a U turn now. The latest news is that starting from January 13, all films scheduled for a Christmas release will be screened in theaters that do not come under the Exhibitors' Federation.
It has been reported that the films will have screenings at theaters of Cine Exhibitors, Multiplexes and the ones run by Government.

It looks like the Malayali audience's wait for films such as Ezra, Jomonte Suvisheshangal, Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol and Fukri will finally come to an end.

Mohanlal-MT Vasudevan Nair project Randamoozham to be a 600 crore project...

All Mohanlal fans now have a reason to rejoice. His much anticiapted movie, Randamoozham, which was announced in 2014 will be happening soon and will be made on a whopping budget of 600 crores. We got to hear it from the horse's mouth in an interview he gave for a popular Television Channel.
The epic film will be based on M T Vasudevan Nair's popular novel Randamoozham and he will be playing the protagonist, Bheemasenan. The novel has the epic Mahabharatham told in the perspective of Bheeman. The actor also added that he has got the script with him. Earlier it was reported that filmmaker Hariharan would be directing this project and later it was said that ad filmmaker Sreekumar will helm it. But according to latest reports, the director has not yet been finalized.

During the announcement of the project in 2014, it was said that the other in cast list include Amitab Bachchan as Bheeshmar, Aishwarya Rai as Droupathi and Vikram as Arjunan. Telugu Super star Nagarjuna also has a role to play in the film. The film will be made in English, Hindi, Malayalam etc. . Music Wizard A.R Rahman will handle the musical department and Sabu Cyril will be the head of Art Direction. K U. Mohanan will be the DOP of the film.

FEFKA writers union to produce a movie...

As most of Mollywood actors are turning producers, the writers too are not far behind. Recently, B Unnikrishnan, FEFKA secretary, took to his social networking page to make a special announcement on Saturday.
"The FEFKA writers union, which comprises of the the scriptwriters and lyricists, will be producing a movie. We have started scripting the movie yesterday. The film is based on AK Sajan's idea which Udayakrishna, Benny P Nayarambalam, Vyasan, Sajan and I would be developing," he posted.

Meanwhile, Unnikrishnan's next directorial will have Mohanlal in the lead with the superstar playing a retired cop.

Nivin: Premam's 'kalippu' scene was inspired by Lalettan's intro in Sphadikam...

Fans of Premam would say in unison that one of their favourite scenes was the 'kalippu' scene that served as the intro for Nivin Pauly's bearded avatar in college. The actor recently opened up about what served as an inspiration for the scene.
During the 100 days celebration of Oppam, the actor said, "(Director) Alphonse said that he wouldn't tell us how exactly to do the scene. But make sure you watch the intro scene of Lalettan in Sphadikam before you get out of the caravan. We saw the scene repeatedly before we did that take for Premam."

Nivin was also a sport at the occassion, twirling Mohanlal moustache at the event.

Kunchacko Boban & Sugeeth To Team Up Again...

Kunchacko Boban and Sugeeth, the popular actor-director duo is all set to join hands once again. Reportedly, Kunchacko and Sugeeth are teaming up for an upcoming movie, which is said to be a comical entertainer.It is the fourth association of the actor-director duo, who last teamed up for the 2015-released movie Madhura Naranga. Vinayakan, who earned wide appreciations for his performance in Kammatipaadam, will essay a key role.The upcoming project is scripted by Nishad Koya, the writer of Ordinary, which marked the first collaboration of Kunchacko Boban and Sugeeth. The team is yet to finalise the female lead and the rest of the star cast of the project.

The untitled movie is produced by Aashiq Usman, under the banner Aashiq Usman Productions. If things fall in place, the movie will start rolling in March, after Kunchacko Boban completes his current commitments.Kunchacko Boban is currently preparing for the upcoming project Ramante Edanthottam, which marks his first collaboration with director Ranjith Sankar. The movie, which is a love story, will feature Chackochan in the title role Raman.The actor's next release will be the upcoming Mahesh Narayanan project Take Off, which also features Parvathy and Fahadh Faasil in the key roles. Kunchacko Boban is also making a cameo appearance in Kalidas Jayaram's Poomaram.

Geethu Mohandas ropes in a stellar team for Moothon...

Geethu Mohandas' upcoming movie titled Moothon has one of the most stellar teams assembled in Malayalam cinema - Nivin Pauly, Anurag Kashyap, Kunal Sharma, Riya Khomu, Sunil Rodrigues and Rajeev Ravi.
The filmmaker took to her social networking page on Monday to reveal the movie's first poster. "Hello Friends, I'm not good with big announcements since we have always done things quietly. So this is a first. Very modestly I want to introduce our exceptional crew members....Rajeev Ravi (He doesn't have a choice Ajithkumar Balagopalan Kunal Sharma Wasiq Khan Sneha Khanwalkar Govind Menon Riyas Komu Sunil Rodrigues. With another new member in our family... with whom my collaboration to write the dialogues was simply inspiring... Anurag Kashyap (sic)," she posted, in addition to thanking the production team that comprises Eros International and Aanand L Rai of Colour yellow productions.

Ineya Plays An Important Role In Mammootty's Puthan Panam...

The shoot of Mammootty's upcoming film Puthan Panam is progressing at a fast pace. The film, scripted and directed by Ranjith, is one of the highly anticipated movies of 2017.
Apart from Mammootty, the film also features a host of prominent faces. One among them is popular South Indian actress Ineya, who is working with actor Mammootty, for the first time.

Reportedly, the actress plays an important role in the upcoming film. Ineya will be seen playing a character named Sundari, who hails from Tamil Nadu. If reports are to be believed the actress has a few combination sequences with Mammootty, as well.

With Puthan Panam, It seems like the actress has bagged a role with scope for performance. Earlier, Ineya was seen in the film Swarna Kaduva, which had Biju Menon in the lead role.

Ineya portrayed a character named Lovely in Swarna Kaduva, directed by Jos Thomas. The actress was much praised for her powerful performance in the movie.

Apart from Mammootty and Ineya, Puthan Panam also features Siddique, Maamukkoya, Suresh krishna, Biju Pappan, Kottayam Nazeer etc., in prominent roles.

The film has been scheduled as a Vishu release but now we have to wait and see whether there will be a change in rthe elease dates since most of the movies have been pushed ahead owing to the film strike.

No Martin Prakkat Project For Nivin Pauly...

Nivin Pauly, the young crowd-puller of Mollywood has no plans to join hands with Martin Prakkat, the Charlie director. The director himself slammed the reports regarding his association with Nivin, in a recent interview.Martin Prakkat made it clear that he is teaming up with Nivin Pauly, and has no plans to direct a project, anytime soon. The director is currently on a break and is yet to think about his next directorial venture.The reports regarding the Nivin Pauly-Martin Prakkat project had excited the fans of both the actor and director, who were eagerly awaiting the first association of the duo. However, Martin's clarification has put the rumours to rest.

Nivin Pauly is all set to release his upcoming political thriller, the Sidhartha Siva directed Sakhavu, by this March. The actor's another forthcoming release is Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, which is directed by Althaf Salim.The actor will be next seen in the upcoming Shyamaprasad movie Hey Jude, which marks the Mollywood debut of popular actress Trisha Krishnan. Vysakh to direct Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep, Jayaram, and Dulquer Salmaan...

Hit maker Vysakh, the top director of 2016, is planning to make several mega projects in near future. Vysakh's Mohanlal-starrer 'Pulimurugan' has entered the 150 crore club.

The first project is 'Raja 2', starring Mammootty in the lead role. The movie scripted by Udaykrishna is a complete family mass entertainer. Mammootty does the character of Pokkiriraja, but the story is not a continuation of 'Pokkiriraja'. 'Raja 2' is produced by Tomichen Mulakupadam.

This will be followed by big projects with Mohanlal, Dileep, Jayaram, and Dulquer Salman. A big budget 3D movie giving prominence to VFX and special effects is to be made in three languages - Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu. The Malayalam version has Jayaram in the lead role. The movie is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Films.
Another mega project is with Mohanlal. The script is again penned by Udaykrishna and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Ashirvad Cinema. The movie will be a complete mass entertainer.

This will be followed by a Dileep project by IFAR International and another one with Dulquer Salman - a complete high voltage mass entertainer.

Actor Mohanlal is definitely having a dream run in Mollywood. The actor has some big projects in his kitty that has the ability to redefine the market of Malayalam cinema.According to the latest reports, the dream combo of Mohanlal and Priyadarshan will soon team up for a movie, once again. Reportedly, the upcoming venture will be a big budget project.

If reports are to be believed, the upcoming film will be made with a budget of above 35 Crores and will be one of the most expensive movies ever made in Malayalam. Pulimurugan has been the most expensive movie of Mohanlal, so far.

Sabu Cyril and Priyadarshan had earlier teamed up for movies like Thenmavin Kombathu, Kalapani, Kakkakkuyil, Rakkilipaatu, Chandralekha etc.Nothing much has been revealed about the genre and the rest of the cast and crew of the movie. There are certain unconfirmed reports that Maniyanpilla Raju will be producing this venture.Well, if this project materializes it will definitely be a project worth waiting for. Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team's previous movie was Oppam, which turned out to be a big blockbuster at the box office.
