Ezra Box Office: 10 Days Kerala Collections.

After a scintillating start at the box office, Prithviraj starrer Ezra is continuing the same momentum, with the film running to packed houses in many of the centres that it released.

Ezra, which hit the theatres on February 10, 2017, has completed 12 days now and the box office collections of the film from the first 10 days are out.

Reportedly, the movie has minted a gross collection of 20.12 Crores from its first 10 days of run in Kerala. The box office collections of the movie was updated through the official Facebook page of the movie.

Ezra also released in rest of the parts of India on February 17, 2017. The movie did release in a record number of screens and reportedly, the film went on to fetch 1.57 Crores within 3 days of its run, which itself is a record.

The weekday collections are also pretty good for Ezra with housefull being registered for most of the evening shows. Two Malayalam films are slated for release this week, in the form of Vineeth Sreenivasan's Aby and Jayaraj's Veeram.

Biju Menon’s next will have 100 characters.

Most Malayalam films revolve around just a handful of characters. However, scriptwriter-turned-director Ranjan Pramod's Rakshadhikari Biju would change that trend by having close to a 100 characters as part of the story.

The movie has Biju Menon playing the lead role of an employee of an irrigation department. "The story-telling pattern of the movie is different," says Ranjan. "We don't follow a particular storyline but the entire movie will have a lot of stories. There are around 100 characters in the movie and all these characters and their tales are somehow connected to the 'Rakshadikari Biju' played by Biju Menon."

On Biju Menon's character, the director says, "He is not a larger than life hero, but shows his heroism in subtle ways. He is a normal man, who spends his life travelling from his village to work in the city and back. He doesn't go out of his way to help people or be good, but somehow ends up doing a heroic deed."
The film, which also has Darvinte Parinamam fame Hannah Reji, has finished the shooting and is gearing up for an April release. The filmmaker says that movie has "a contemporary story very relevant to our times".

"It's got a political subtext that is wrapped in humour and without any dramatic moments or hard-hitting dialogues," says Ranjan. "The aim is to not only make the viewers laugh but also think."

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol Is Racing Ahead At The UK Box Office.

Mohanlal's most recent release Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which hit the overseas market on February 17, 2017, is having a dream run out there, as well.

Especially in the UK box office, the film is racing ahead with the film receiving a grand reception. Reportedly, the film has edged past the lifetime collection of super hit movies like Oppam, Two Countries, Drishyam, Jacobinte Swargarajyam, Premam etc., in the first weekend itself.

P J Entertainments, through which the film has been distributed in UK theatres, confirmed through their Facebook page that Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has crossed EUR 100,000 mark within 4 days of its release.

Mohanlal's previous big release Pulimurugan holds the record for the top grossing Malayalam movie at the UK box office. The film, did go on to fetch above EUR 200,000 at the UK box office.

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has already crossed the half-way mark within 4 days in run and now in all probabilities, the movie will break the record set by Pulimurugan as well, to become the top grossing Malayalam movie at the UK box office.

Meanwhile, the film is doing a steady business in Kerala, despite the release of new movies. The worldwide box office collection of the movie has crossed the 30-Crore mark.

Mohanlal & Joshiy With Pulimurugan Team.

Mohanlal, the complete actor is all set to team up with veteran film-maker Joshiy, once again. Interestingly, the Mohanlal-Joshiy duo is joining hands with the Pulimurugan team for their upcoming project.

The untitled movie will be scripted by Udayakrishna, the writer of Pulimurugan, and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, the producer of the movie. Writer Udayakrishna confirmed the news in a recently held press meet.

According to the writer, he is currently busy with the scripting of the movie, which will be a big budget venture. The Mohanlal-Joshiy project is expected to start rolling immediately after the actor completes his current projects.

The title, female lead, and the rest of the star cast of the movie is expected to be revealed soon. If the reports are to be believed, the team is planning to have an official announcement of the project by the beginning of March.

Joshiy last teamed up with Mohanlal for the spy action movie Lailaa O Lailaa, which hit the theatres in 2015. The movie, which was scripted by Kahaani fame Suresh Nair, was a critical and commercial disaster.

Mohanlal is currently undergoing ayurvedic treatment to lose weight for his role in the upcoming B Unnikrishnan project. The actor is expected to join the sets of the movie which is a complete thriller, by March first week.

Mohanlal's 'Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol' releases in Singapore.

Director Jibu Jacob's latest film 'Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol,' starring Mohanlal, had won the hearts of Malayali audience and reaped success at the box office too.

After a good run in Kerala, the film has just released abroad, in Singapore. Mohanlal recently wrote on his social media page, "Thank you Singapore for the Welcome, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol released at Singapore."

Mohanlal plays a panchayat secretary named Ulahannan in the film, and Meena is in the role of his wife Aniyamma in the film. 'Jacobinte Swargarajyam' fame Aima Susan, and Sanoop Santhosh enact their children in the family drama.

The Great Father To Release In 150 Screens.

The Great Father, the Mammootty starring upcoming movie is all set to have a grand release on March 30th, Thursday. As per the latest reports, The Great Father will be released in about 150 theatres.
The movie, which is written and directed by newcomer Haneef Adeni is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects of Malayalam cinema. It is also one of the most awaited projects in Mammootty's career.

If things fall in place, The Great Father will get a worldwide release on the same day. The makers are reportedly keen to have a worldwide release, considering the huge pre-release hype of the movie.

Mammootty will appear in the role of David Ninan, a builder in the movie which depicts the deep bonding between a father and his daughter. Sneha appears as David's wife Michelle David.

Baby Anikha appears as David and Michelle's daughter Sara David in the movie. Tamil actors Arya, Sham, Mia George, Malavika Mohanan, IM Vijayan, etc., appear in the supporting roles.

Gopi Sundar composes the songs and background score for the movie. The Great Father is jointly produced by Prithviraj, Santhosh Sivan, Shaji Nadesan, and Arya for August Cinema.

Pulimurugan team is all geared up to celebrate its 150th day in Dubai with a grand party.

Pulimurugan shattered all box office records in Mollywood and it's only fitting that its 150th day is celebrated in grand style. The makers have zeroed in on Dubai for the celebrations and we hear that everybody part of the team will be in attendance.
The movie's director Vysakh tells us, "We have planned a grand event next month in Dubai and hopefully that will be the wrap up of Pulimurugan's grand hunt in the box office." The movie, incidentally, also ran for 98 days in the UAE theatres.

Vysakh now has several projects lined up including Mammootty's Raja 2, a film with Jayaram and also projects with Mohanlal and Dulquer Salmaan. The director though clarifies that he has not decided which will film will go on floors first.

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol Joins The 50-Crore Club.

Mohanlal starrer Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, the second biggest release of the year has been making waves at the box office. Now, the film directed by Jibu Jacob is all set to be one of the biggest hits of this year, so far.

Earlier, there were speculations doing the rounds that the film has entered the 50-Crore club. Some posters of the film did also carry this message but the audiences were eagerly waiting for a confirmed report from the side of the makers.

Now, actor Mohanlal himself has confirmed that Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has joined the 50-Crore club. The actor took to his official Facebook page to announce the same.

Region wise collections of the movie have not been released. Anyhow, it is a hat-trick for Mohanlal, since three back-to-back movies of the actor have entered the 50-Crore club worldwide. His previous two releases, Oppam directed by Priyadarshan and Vysakh's Pulimurugan also made it to the 50-Crore club.

In total, Mohanlal has now 4 Malayalam films in the 50-Crore club. His 2013 film Drishyam, was the first Malayalam movie to enter this coveted club.

Meanwhile, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is continuing its good run in the theatres. The film, which was release in overseas centres recently, is doing a good business out there.
