Fukri Box Office: 21 Days Kerala Collections

Fukri, the Jayasurya starring comical entertainer hit the theatres on February 3rd, Friday. The movie, which is written and directed by senior film-maker Siddique, earned mixed to negative reviews from all over.
As per the latest updates from the trade experts, Fukri has made a gross collection of 8.93 Crores from the Kerala box office, within the first 21 days of its release. It is surely not an impressive figure for a Siddqiue project.

Reportedly, Fukri which was a big-budget venture has earned just 7.19 Crores net collection after the tax deduction, in which just 3.90 Crores is the producer's share. So, it has been confirmed that the Jayasurya movie ended up as a theatrical flop.

According to the trade analysts, the producer will have to wait till the satellite rights of the movie are sold, to attain profit. Fukri is produced by the writer-director Siddique, Vaishak Rajan, and Jenso Jose, for S Talkies and Vyshaka Cynyma.

Prayaga Martin and Anu Sithara have essayed the female leads in the movie, which had Siddique, Lal, Bhagath Manuel, KPAC Lalitha, Thesni Khan, Sreelatha Namboothiri, Joju George etc., have appeared in the supporting roles.

The negative reviews from the critics and social media audiences have doubtlessly affected the theatre performance of the movie. Fukri has severely disappointed the loyal fans of director Siddique, who is well known for his comical entertainers.

Mammootty's Role In Udayakrishna-Ajai Vasudev Movie Revealed.

The upcoming Mammootty starrer, which is scripted by Udayakrishna and directed by Ajai Vasudev, is one of the most anticipated Mollywood projects of 2017. Recently, the team members revealed some interesting details about Mammootty's role in the movie.

As per the reports, the megastar is playing a very strict, rough college professor in the movie, which is said to be a campus murder mystery. He is an unfriendly professor to his students and refuses to compromise with them.

According to the sources, Mukesh and Salim Kumar will essay the roles of Mammootty's colleagues in the movie. Young actor Unni Mukundan, who has earlier teamed up with the megastar for three films, is also playing a key role.

Unni's role in the rumoured to be a college student, but the reports are yet to be confirmed. The team is yet to finalise the female lead of the movie, Kalabhavan Shahjohn, Maqbool Salmaan, Kailash, John, Arjun Nandakumar etc., appear in the supporting roles.

The untitled movie will mark second collaboration of writer Udayakrishna with the Pulimurugan producer Tomichan Mulakupadam. Shaji is the DOP. Deepak Dev composes the music. John Kutty and Girish Menon handle the editing and art direction respectively.

Tovino Thomas To Team Up With Aashiq Abu And Amal Neerad.

Tovino Thomas, the young sensation of Mollywood has bagged a real big project. The actor has been roped in to play the lead role in Aashiq Abu's next directorial venture.Interestingly, the upcoming film will also have the presence of cinematographer-turned-director Amal Neerad. Reportedly, the story of the upcoming film has been written by Amal Neerad.

The yet-to-be-titled film has its script written by Syam Pushkar and Dileesh Nair. The team had earlier scripted movies like Salt N Pepper, Da Thadiya, Idukki Gold etc.

The upcoming film will be jointly produced by Aashiq Abu and Amal Neerad. Nothing much has been revealed about the rest of the cast of the film. It is after a gap of one and a half years that Aashiq Abu is directing a film. Fahadh Faasil-Venu Movie Gets A New Title.

Fahadh Faasil starring upcoming Venu movie has got a new title. As per the latest updates, the movie which was earlier titled as Aayiram Kaani, has now been retitled as Carbon.Director Venu recently confirmed the news through his official Facebook recently. According to the director, the team decided to change the title due to creative reasons, but the story and the star cast will remain the same.

According to Venu, the team is planning to start the shoot only in August, after the monsoon season. Carbon will be mainly shot at the various locations Kottayam and Idukki districts.

The movie depicts the story of a young man who has lots of dreams in life, and how his life and dreams change after a certain point. Fahadh Faasil appears as the central character in the movie.Mamtha Mohandas essays the female lead opposite Fahadh in the movie. It is the first association of Mamtha with Fahadh Faasil and Venu, who rose to fame with his second directorial venture Munnariyippu.Carbon is scripted by director Venu himself. The rest of the star cast and further details of the movie, which is produced by the banner Poetry Films, is expected to be announced soon.

Biju Menon's 'Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu' Gearing Up For An April Release.

Biju Menon, has a slew of projects in his kitty, which are in different stages of production. The actor will be next seen in Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu, directed by writer-director Ranjan Pramod.The upcoming film, will feature Biju Menon in the title role. The actor will be seen essaying an Irrigation Department Officer in the movie. The shoot of the movie was completed recently in Payyoli, and the makers are planning to release the movie in April.

Reportedly, the film will have some specialities which is expected to make it a different viewing experience. Unlike other Malayalam movies of the recent times, the film will feature close to 100 characters in it and each one of them will be associated with the lead character in one or the other way.

Darwinte Parinamam fame Hannah Reji plays the leading lady in the movie. Dileep-Siddique Team's Next Movie To Come Out In 2018.

Actor Dileep has some real big projects in his kitty and in one such upcoming project, he would be seen reuniting with film-maker Siddique.This upcoming project was announced back in 2016 and it will mark their reunion as an actor and director, after their successful venture, Bodyguard released in the year 2010.

According to a latest report by Times Of India, this upcoming venture will hit the theatres in 2018. Director Siddique stated that he is yet to discuss the script with Dileep and they are planning to make the upcoming film as a Vishu release of 2018.
Earlier, certain reports suggested that the upcoming film will be in the lines of an entertainer and Dileep will be seen in the role of a character named Priyaranjan, who is a hotel management student. We have to wait and see to know whether the makers are moving forward with same storyline or not.Meanwhile, Siddique's most recent directorial venture Fukri, starring Jayasurya in the lead role couldn't fetch the desired result at the Kerala box office. Mohanlal To Appear In Manju Warrier's C/O Saira Banu.

Mohanlal, the complete actor is rumoured to be making a special cameo appearance in the upcoming Manju Warrier starrer C/O Saira Banu. Reportedly, the team is planning to reveal Mohanlal's first look from the movie soon.

If the rumours are to be believed, the megastar is playing the role of Peter John, the husband of Manju Warrier's character Saira Banu in the movie. But, the crew members have not confirmed the reports yet.

However, the reports have been doing rounds in social media, to the much excitement of the Mohanlal fans. If the reports are to be true, Malayali audiences will get a chance to watch Mohanlal-Amala Akkineni duo together, once again.

Prithviraj's Ezra Overtakes Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol.

The year so far has been a good one for Malayalam film industry, with movies like Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Ezra and Jomonte Suviseshangal involved in a neck-and-neck race.

Interestingly, Prithviraj starrer Ezra, which released on February 10, 2017 has now overtaken the collection of Mohanlal's Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, in one of the major centres.

In Kochi multiplexes, Ezra went on to collect 1.89 Crores in 17 days of run and thus beating the collections of Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which has collected 1.88 Crores so far, from 38 days of its run.

Both the films are doing good business at the Kochi multiplexes even now but it is Ezra, which is now crusing ahead of Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol at a faster rate. Earlier, Ezra went on to become the fastest entrant to the 1-Crore club at the Kochi multiplexes.

Ezra is also sure to cross the 2-Crore mark at the Kochi multiplexes and the film is maintaining good occupancy in the theatres, even now.

We have to wait and see whether Ezra will go on to become the highest grosser of Prithviraj at the Kochi multiplexes or not. Prithviraj movies like Ennu Ninte Moideen and Amar Akbar Anthony had also grossed above 2-Crores at the Kochi multiplexes.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal Box Office: 39 Days Kerala Collections.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal, the Dulquer Salmaan starrer movie has already earned the blockbuster tag from the Kerala and worldwide box offices. The Sathyan Anthikad directed movie has impressed both the audiences and critics.

According to trade analysts, Jomonte Suvisheshangal has made a total gross collection of about 20.4 Crores, from the Kerala box office. The movie thus crossed the 20-Crore mark at the Kerala box office, within the first 39 days.

Reportedly, Jomonte Suvisheshangal has collected about 5.5 Crores from the releasing centres of rest of the India. The Dulquer Salmaan movie as made a total gross collection of 8.6 Crores from UAE alone.

The total gross collection from the releasing centres of other major countries is around 3.9 Crores. Thus, the movie has made a total gross collection of about 38.4 Crores from its 39 days of worldwide theatrical run.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal, which marked the first association of Dulquer Salmaan with the senior film-maker Sathyan Anthikad, had a grand opening at the Kerala box office by making an initial collection of 2.72 Crores.

The movie thus emerged as the second Malayalam movie with the highest ever initial collection, after Mohanlal's Pulimurugan. The trade experts suggest that Jomonte Suvisheshangal will touch 50-Crore mark within its lifetime run.
