Sony has got Saina, Sardar Ka Grandson, Sherni and now Haseen Dillruba with Bell Bottom coming soon. Hopefully when they premiere, they will not be ignored after the first 5 airings or so.

5 Airings On Sony Max Would Also Be A Great Achievement Because Gulabo Sitabo, Shakuntala Devi, Malang & Prassthanam Have Hardly Aired 2-3 Times So Far

Bhoothnath actually returned to its home Disney-Star.
Bhoothnath being aired on Star Utsav back then.

Sony is not mad that it is not giving proper airtime to yrf films, they are simply not satellite friendly, catering more to the urban audiences.
The ones which do Sony is giving proper airtime like sultan, tzh , vvc films.
So beyond a point paying a premium and not getting sufficient returns was no longer viable.
Even partly satellite friendly movies like bank chor also got decent airtime.
It will be interesting to see how well star manages them, my guess is probably using more on the select type channels
Even an Akshay or Ajay movie is more satellite friendly , despite probably being available for half the price probably

This is not at all true. Most r satellite friendly and worth watching. Sony has not promoted them well, given inadequate or wrong slots and played a role in audience not getting to sample it. Also even if some r urban audience centric then it deserves proper airtime, ...u know Sony TV gets major viewership from urban areas so why can't they get it for movies. Also nowadays with internet or OTT penetration most of masala movies work well with both audiences. What do u call say a Bunty & Babli, it is full on entertaining film which is liked by all but Sony simply ignored it.... Also Salaam Namastay is a gr8 film which had potential to succeed but it was neglected. So this point is not a valid one. How does star/disney manage to get good response for all types of films but Sony cannot? And here I m even talking about films which flopped at box office. Also Sony has so many good Warner Bros, Universal dubbed film library....did they air it properly....infact star/disney airing them and getting fantastic rersponse.

Anyways i can only give feedback, if broadcaster or viewers like u are not accepting truth then obviously competitors will take advantage. No more discussions on this from me

Bro actually TOH deal was the main reason as Yrf demanded for a huge 80 crs for satellite rights whereas Sony said for max 50 crs. Although Sony bought it for about 65 crs but when the movie failed miserably both on Theatre and satellite, sony refused to buy any other yrf movie. Then yrf approached star for their movies. I think Sony did manage well. I remember they always showed yrf logo on posters of yrf movies on their television runs . Plus they used to mention about the silver jubilee of movies like DDLJ . They used to air good yrf movies on Sony Max 2 as well

It was not the reason. TOH released in 2016...war did much later. Such strong relationships r not so weak to b damaged by one film. The reasons i mentioned contributed to exit and star/disney was ready with a good offer. Sony gave max airings to select YRF films but others were left behind
