discussion is about clearance for ses 9. Do u got any info that airtel got it from ISRO ?

Also getting 80 tps will not help airtel as India doesn't have 5000 chs. It only has 500 chs

Don't u think that Sun will sue ISRO for not giving clearance if ISRO give clearance to Airtel ? I have serious doubt as all transponders are allocated by ISRO. So ISRO cannot give benefit to certain private company while not allocating TP some other. It will be termed as unfair business by ISRO as both of these companese are paying same amount of money per tps :s

Actually there are some mandatory guidelines and rules to follow in allocating tps and so on. I dont know about such things. But I have read some issues and scandals concerned with some operators.

If you click this link ,There is some issues going on. I am not sure how much it will effect the industry but the sun network will surely try to get back things on track.
When it comes to Airel, they wont have such problems and most importantly the existing tps wont expire soon. So there wont be much worry for Airtel.
Bro one suggestion .... Pls dont mix things.. Sun issues has to be on Sun direct forum section. That Will be better I guess.

Let them lauch the satellite and let it become operational.. then we can worry about airtel buying tp's and getting regulatory clearance...

SES9 is not fully for Airtel . India has more than 500 channels. Future is all about HD and 4k channels and at that point...Airtel should have a upper hand. Let them first launch the satellite ?.

81 transponders will not be be given to the airtel...Half will be taken by isro for some other Purposes

That depends upon SES world Skies. The manufacturer have the right to decide and not the ISRO.

I can't easily answer for this one. So many new channels are coming. Existing channels are upgrading to HD. 4k is around the corner.
So having many is a good thing.
Recently I heard that Tata signed some agreement with Ericsson for a new technology which can be useful when there is scarcity for tps. So advanced technology and all depends upon the need for tps.
