Was waiting to happen. Kids , Superhero, Action Franchise movies r performing well on English Movie Channels. Kids Genre has lead over other two as visible in weekly BARC Ratings. Star Movies will focus on Action/Superhero and Kids Movie channel will boost ad + subscription revenue. There is leverage untapped potential in both segments
On other hand we might soon get news about MN+, &Prive HD heading towards closure. It is not getting viewership even from premium segment and hence hardly any advertisers showing interest in them. Same is case with Star Movies Select but Star India is somehow managing to run it efficiently thanks to high profits earned from its other genres. Most people get to watch host of good content thru OTT and English Segment on TV is facing heat, already Star World, AXN, Zee Cafe r strugling to survive. Comedy Central has acted smart and doing great with comedy shows which people tune in for fun

Star finally moving on. I had enough with their regional sports channels. Kids genre needed a big addition and this hopefully will do the trick. Now for the love of God don't take the same direction that Turner, Disney and Nick took and do something new. Many animated movies are there for them to show.
