@Raju lal chettan is the best one to answer this question. :smile2:

In short, despite not being a traditional Indian name, Malayalis have a deep emotional connect with the name Asianet like Telugu people have for ETV. Star has refused to add the name ‘Star’ before Asianet or change its logo or graphics like the other Star channels.
Asianet and Sun TV both has a fame among the viewers, especially women. Those are the first GECs in the respective markets and made revolutions in the market than any others. Serial viewers stick with them and watch whatever they show. Consider if Asianet's and other channel's input is same, but Asianet will get 3x output in ratings than others. So do Star knowingly destroy the privilege?
As of now Star consider name change of Asianet under only 2 circumstances.
1. Whether any conflict happen with other 2 Asianets over the brand name and logo.
2. Whenever Asianet collapse in the charts(even in this case there is less chance - Atleast K Madhavan should be out from Star).

Asianet News channels and ACV channels have the same logo as the parent one (colours differ though). So in first situation, the triangle logo can be altered a bit for the parent channel. Like the one below :

Nice creation. But if there is a race for logo then there must be for the name too. Either both or nothing.

Not going off topic:
But the A logo is its identity.Like Sun is identified by its sunray logo, similarly Asianet is identified by its A.
I would rather suggest that Star should retain logo, but add Star wordmark.Even in current cable issues, Asianet was also being blamed unknowingly. So, it's necessary that people know Asianet channels are different.
