Ok. So the July 2014 promise of UHD launch by ICC world cup is kept by TataSky.

Just had a call with CS. According to them I will have to exchange my HD-PVR and pay 6k to get new 4K STB. According to them it can still record in HD and have 500GB hard drive.

Content-wise only 4 QF, 2 SF and Final of World Cup are to be showcased in 4k.

Some detective work on the net landed up with two things.

1. List of Set Top Boxes imported during last week in India (includes declared custom value)
Import Data and Price of set top box | Zauba

2. Technicolor (Tata Sky's 4k STB partner) actually has a 4k STB
HEVC 4K Satellite Media Server - Technicolor

Enjoy!

in this price you hardly get good HD STB, and you are expecting UHD STB in 2000 Rs
