Network capacity fees reduced for boadcaster???will dth add more pending fta channels??

IMO, People will buy Sun TV, even if they retain the high price, because of the very reason, it's popularity. It's reach shouldn't be impacted, even if they continue the same price. However, If they keep the other popular channels out of bouquets and price them high, people may not buy them at all, thus affecting their reach.
Same will be the case of all broadcasters. Customers will opted for flagship channels. Leaving out rest of the channels despite reduction in pricing.

Adding a channel is the issue between DTH operator n broadcaster. But now itself DTH companies offer all the fra channels for rs 153.

What about the MSOs who have 20-30 connections and operate in difficult areas? They should get a revenue of Rs. 1600 per month?
Not a valid argument !!
I am selling Samosa at ₹15 at present and getting ₹3000 as daily turnover, And if i have to open my shop at very thinly populated are is it their responsibility to fill my cash box even when i sell 20/30 samosa there ?
Point is:
Government should intervene when:
Rates are too unfair
Monopoly exists
Strong public demand to lower high prices
Which is above points were existed when TRAI came with drastic changes ?
Those who are giving example of ₹65 a month sports channels also suppress the fact that all Sports pack was too cheap then.

What cheap? Even with no HD channels or sports channels, basic rate came to 300rs per month.

We are not rich like roadside sellers. We are poor and middle class families.

what is point of having SD & HD version of same channel. Nw they should stop SD channels which do simulcastng.

Both broadcasters and DPOs should satisfy all the customers, not just one set of customers. Not every customer is HD complaiant. Even developed markets still have sd channels. SD and HD versions may have different price points. If there's only hd version then either the DPO or the customer should pay more than he has to. From broadcasters point of view, they can have different sponsors for sd and hd version and have better revenue stream.

What non-LED TV has to do with HD channel? HD channels run on CRT TV also.

Yes they do. But, hd channels doesn't run with sd boxes. And having a sd version is better, easier and cheaper than downscaling. There are still people who use WinXp and Win7 although it has reached EoL. Microsoft can recommend upgrade to Win10 but they can't just black out the screen saying you can't use your pc until you upgrade. That's unethical. Same is when you ask a sd customer to buy hd box and watch hd channel on crt tv or watch a noisy downscale version or just switch off the transmission.

Digitalization and NTO was forced. Why not force users to upgrade to HD?

Digitalization was implemented because MSOs were giving inaccurate data to broadcasters, govt. as well as customers. They gave reduced customer count to broadcasters, increased channel rates to customers. That allowed him to fix their own rates as they wish and loot. Also most of the areas had poor connectivity because of improper infrastructure from the MSOs. So it was forced to bring neutrality in service and cost.

NTO was implemented with an intention to bring down the TV bill. It's primary motive is to give the freedom to customer and to keep the prices at check. It's currently on a trial and error basis. Sure it gonna yield the results sooner or later.

Both cases were intended to be customer friendly. But forcing a HD upgrade and sd switch off will not be customer friendly. It will impact a lot of houses. They would need a immediate investment to upgrade and a regular increase in monthly bill from sd to hd.

No. Not if the entire investment, revenue, expenses, and profit belongs to you alone. But when your revenue is dependent on others, then the situation changes.

Let's take an hypothetical situation. A corporate supplies you all the samosa at ₹12 each and u make ₹3 profit per samosa, and they force you open a shop at thinly populated area and you sell only 30 samosa per day making ₹90 per day. Now if you say that ₹90/day wouldn't be enough to run a shop, and the corporate ignore your problem, that's when govt should intervene to protect you. That's very similar to what they have done now.

This is just an example as per your theory. Otherwise it makes no sense to compare a SALE with a SERVICE. Both are two entirely different things.

allow alacarte in addition to this curated pack
you can add any channels (single/bouquet) with SUN Curated packs, and they won't charge extra NCF for that extra channels UNLESS you want to watch more than 200 channels.

what an explanation!! EVERYTHING CLEARED! :win:
