My view/curiosity;
1) Why broadcaster launched prolonged festival offer @ Rs 12, just to fool TRAI and disguise consumers, when they realized that TRAI is looking for amendments and influence the process.
2) Lower NCF is counter productive, as with lower NCF, Broadcaster will never reduce tariffs as they want to eat all slices of cake. They are not doing any charity.
3) With the new amendments, no one is stopping them to keep prices of premium channels at higher level. There is no cap. Problem is that they want to bundle useless and non popular channels through bouquet thereby limiting the choice and enticing consumers to go for a bouquet.
Broadcasters can easily turn new amendments in their favor with fewer channels and smart pricing. Sony Happy India pack @39 is a classic example where they don't need to change almost anything.
