Ok But I have one query what if I select some particular channels and broadcaster bouquets today and tomorrow I need to add more channels on it. Can I do that?

Because I have seen that lock-in period is 30 days so is it applicable for deletion of channel only. OR our selection will be freeze for alteration for 30 days? Please guide.
In Tatasky there's lock in of 1 day only. I added one pack yesterday and removed it today.

Better to watch FTA news channels and music channels only , dont go for pay channels. Even better go to DD FTA channels which is free of cost

I think it was rate per pay channel on la carte basis
Out of about 876 channels, 336 are paid ones and the rest are free-to-air. However, even out of the 540 free-to-air channels, only a 100 can be aired by the cable operators without charging any money from customers. Above this limit, `20 has to be charged per channel. “As a result, the NTO ensures that cable TV subscribers in the city pay around `800 - `1,000 per month for 412 channels, as opposed to the Rs 200 - Rs 250 they are paying at present for the same number of channels,” said Goud.

The above statements are totally misleading!!

Hey guys,A small doubt!

Now the rule has been made effective,& from here how will be the competition in DTH sector gonna happen?

Just like it happens in regular market, it will be based on how many subscribers operator has / discounts received as per penetration achieved or placement of various broadcaster bouquet or channels on their platform / NCF they wish to charge etc.

In previous regime there was too much favouritism, broadcasters offered massive discounts to few platforms and charged more from others. Operators like Tata Sky got into fixed long term deals with broadcasters at huge discounts riding on strong subscriber base and in return offered these channels to us at inflated rates thus accumulating massive profit
