Basically my take is that you have now to take packages designed by DTH operators after 29-dec-18. Broadcasters had made sure that if you try to take individual channels or make your own package then that will require to shell more and it will be less channels otherwise.

That will differ according to customers preference bro. A customer will always take something that give discount to him so.wait till dths announce packages

Please provide me cutting of that whether link or screen shot or pic , fast sir
IN kerala 2days before there was a meeting digital cable broadcasters all of them welcomes the trai implementation. And they said after implementation customer will become king and.this will push broadcasters to reduce there channels price. I had read it news paper.[/QUOTE

You all are unnecessarily getting too much confused. Apart from 15% cap all other rules part of TRAI Tariff Order are now getting implemented, carefully understanding and analyzing them can clearly provide all options available and best suited to us. All i can say is no one will be paying more even if latest bouquet or a-la-carte prices come into effect when u compare with present structure. If TRAI gets victory in 15% cap issue then a-la-carte will further be reduced to comply with this rule.

Biggest relief for me is to not be forced to pay for same channel in SD and HD feed. This will also save money. I can almost ditch all SD channels barring few which r not having HD feed or those which air different programs than its counterpart.

You can either choose SD or HD bouquet created by broadcasters , also operators r free to create their own bouquet by mix matching channels from broadcaster bouquet (which they are) as long as same price point is maintained and clubbing of SD/HD channels is not done. 20% distribution fee is already included in bouquet price and only 18% GST is to paid additionally.

Can anyone confirm if network capacity fee is applicable in both bouquet and slab mode? Kindly present a valid document and not some random article published by newspapers or portals as they r printing wrong information most often on this.

Some people r arguing that if Rs. 99 package is discontinued then no one will be willing to pay Rs. 150 for FTA channels and Free Dish will be better. Well both Free Dish and private players operate on different model, u cannot compare massive cost incurred by private companies to DD Free Dish financial model. Free Dish is neither provides its own stb, dish, aftersale service, customer care, etc. and above all i guess it gets transponders free or at heavy subsidy + private channels pay them huge carriage while private players have to invest heavily in each department and subscription plays much greater role than carriage in their growth. One who likes only FTA stuff or can't afford pay channels they have a good option in form of DD Fres Dish to satisfy basic entertainment needs.

An operator can for sure ad two bouquets to form one, Having said that the older Genre wise bouquets which had same genre channels from different broadcasters, how can an operator create that now?
Edit:
Every distributor of television channels shall offer its subscribers each bouquet of channels formed by the broadcasters, and which are available on its platform, without any alteration and declare the retail price for such bouquet(s) payable by the subscriber. (Page 10, Point 4)

Network capacity fee, capped at rs.130 is applicable for initial 100 channels, be it FTA, Pay (Bouquet or ALC)
As per Trai Tarrif order:
the Authority has proposed that distributors of television channels may charge a maximum fixed amount of upto Rs 130/- per month, excluding taxes, from its subscribers towards its network cost to carry 100 SD channels including mandatory channels of Prasar Bharti, as notified by the Government from time to time. (Page 32, point 43)

Within the capacity of one hundred SD channels, as referred to in sub-clause (1), in addition to channels notified by the Central Government to be mandatorily provided to subscribers, a subscriber shall be free to choose any free to air channel(s), pay channel(s), premium channel(s) or bouquet(s) of channels offered by the broadcasters or bouquet(s) of channels offered by the distributor of television channels:
Provided that if a subscriber opts for pay channels or premium channels or bouquet of pay channels, he shall be liable to pay retail price for such channels or bouquets separately.

Genre-wise packages cannot be made till a la carte prices are reduced.

Now, all you will have are broadcaster's packs, FTA pack and mega packs made by joining broadcasters packs (like infinity)

So out of 100, 26 DD channels are mandatory so we are left with 74 SD channels to choose
