Digital Cable TV and Broadband service provider GTPL Hathway has registered a revenue of Rs 6,875 million in Quarter 3 FY 19-20 and has also ventured into the Tamil Nadu market.
Subscription revenue from Cable TV service stood at Rs 2,581 million while broadband revenue stood at Rs 422 million. EBIDTA stood at Rs 1,352 million, up by 62% year-on-year basis.
The profit after tax stood at Rs 329 million. The company seeded 1.5 lakh STBs during the quarter, taking total seeded STBs at the end of 2019 to 10.05 million. Digital paying subscribers at the end of 2019 were up by 1 lakh and stood at 7.35 million.
The company added 2.4 lakh Home Pass subscribers taking the total subscriber base to 3.16 million at the end of 2019. It also added 20 thousand home broadband and 10 thousand FTTX subscribers.
Commenting on the performance, Anirudhsinh Jadeja, Managing Director, GTPL Hathway said, “GTPL continued to deliver strong business and financial performance in the third quarter of FY20. During the quarter, we seeded 150,000 STBs and reported a strong 44% increase in CATV subscription revenue. As we had communicated during the last quarter, our strong cash flow generation is helping us not only meet our CAPEX requirement but also help in reducing the debt. During Q3, we further reduced our debt by ₹ 475 million and, with that, our net debt as on December 31, 2019, stood at ₹ 1,861 million.”
Broadband ARPU of Rs 415 was maintained during the quarter with 99% subscribers opting for truly unlimited plans. It also ventured into the Tamil Nadu market during the quarter. The company is offering a total service capacity of 506 service channels in Tamil Nadu with 68 HD channels and 370 SD channels. It has declared 12 spare channel capacity for the Tamil Nadu market.
GTPL claims to be the number 1 MSO in Gujarat, number 2 MSO in West Bengal and significant presence in Maharashtra and Hindi speaking markets. It now has a presence in 12 states offering CATV and Broadband service.
