DreamDTH had last week exclusively broken that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) had approved the name change application of 9 channels in the last 2 months which included Hi-Dost! The ministry had also approved the name change approvals of Hi-Dost!, Mango, ANB News, News 11 Bharat, Naaptol, Bangla Naaptol, Malayalam Naaptol, Kannada Naaptol, and Tamil Naaptol.

When asked about TravelXP 4K launch, Ganesh Chavan said that the group would inform as and when the channel will launch in India. According to our sources, the broadcaster is yet to get a license for TravelXP 4K. TravelXP’s subsidiary group MediaWorldWide Limited had in April received a license named Bong which had been applied quite a long back.

The group registered Travel XP 4K logo in India with the registry a few weeks after the license was granted which indicated that it could rename Bong to use TravelXP 4K. However Hi-Dost! logo was also registered around the same time and Bong license was used for it. TravelXP had in June tied up with Measat to distribute the Travelxp 4K HDR channel across the Asia Pacific.

  1. They haven’t appeared on any major DTH/cable networks. I was able to access the channel only from JioTV. They have brought Chinese Drama with English audio, a great initiative.

    • Indeed, their distribution hasn’t been up to the mark. TravelXP could be facing carriage fee issues.
