The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) recently amended Cimco Projects Limited’s existing satellite TV channel license resulting in a change in the category of the TV license.

As per the Ministry’s permitted satellite TV channel repository, Cimco Project Limited’s ‘Devam’ TV license is now part of the ‘News and Current Affairs’ category. For the unaware, the Ministry had last year granted the license as part of the ‘Non-News and Current Affairs’ category.

The Ministry had last year granted Cimco Projects two TV channel licenses part of the ‘News and Current Affairs’ category namely ‘Voice of Indian People – VIP’ and ‘Prerna’ apart from a third TV channel license named ‘Devam’ part of the ‘Non-News and Current Affairs category.

The Ministry has since then renamed the ‘Prerna’ TV license as ‘Har Khabar’. MIB also renamed ‘Voice of Indian People – VIP’ as ‘Pan Asia TV Bangla‘ and subsequently as ‘News Hour’.
