IN10 Media’s Free to Air (FTA) Hindi Music channel Showbox is all set to convert into a pay channel soon with the broadcaster recently notifying a new Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO) effective 1st October 2020 notifying the conversion of Showbox as a pay channel.
IN10 Media will be turning into a pay broadcaster from a Free to Air (FTA) broadcaster once Showbox turns into a pay channel. Showbox currently available on Airtel Digital TV, Tata Sky, and Sun Direct as a Free to Air (FTA) channel in all likelihood cometh 1st October will be available as a pay channel at an a-la-carte rate of Rs 0.10.
Showbox will also be available in IN10 Media’s broadcaster bouquet Apna Epic Value pack which is priced at Rs 2 and offers Gubbare, Filamchi, Epic TV, and Showbox. The bouquet was initially notified in April by IN10 Media which back then offered Filamchi and Epic TV at Rs 2. It is however yet to debut on any DTH platform and could likely land post the launch of Gubbare. The network seems to have held back on the launch of Ishaara TV.
IN10 Media had in May exited DD Free Dish withdrawing Showbox and Filamchi from the platform with plans afoot to convert into a pay broadcaster. It was said to convert as a pay broadcaster from 1st September but the same was delayed supposedly due to NTO 2.0. Given IN10 Media’s April Reference Interconnection Offer (RIO) was in line with Tariff Amendment Order 2020, it has seemingly proceeded with its plan to launch its upcoming channels without waiting for further delay.
